Altar'd State Of Mind

Monday, October 12, 2015

Let's jump right into the weekend recap!

I dropped X off at school Friday morning and made sure to snap a quick pic of his latest creation.
They made scarecrows and drew the faces themselves :)
Bad mom here -- we never do crafts or anything like this at home.
So seeing the little face he drew just melted me!

All day Friday the weather was cool and kind of gloomy.
AKA: Fall in Ohio
On my way home I stopped to take a quick pic of the trees starting to change colors :)
They just cleared this corn field the day before, so it was the first I could actually see the trees.
This pic doesn't do it justice, but all the trees that sit behind our house are now turning a golden yellow :)

Friday night we stayed in and had breakfast for dinner before calling it a night.

Saturday morning Mic had a meeting to go to, so X and I stayed at home and got some laundry done.
He loved getting to snuggle up in the warm sheets fresh out of the dryer :)
We spent the morning working out, snuggling, and watching cartoons :)

Later in the afternoon, X headed to my in-laws and Mic and I headed south to Columbus.
We of course enjoyed a yummy late lunch at Mimi's Cafe before hitting up the mall to do some early Christmas shopping.
I mean...
Anyone else ready to decorate or is that just me?! :)

After picking up some new books for X at Barnes & Noble we headed inside the mall and came across Altar'd State.
Andrea had mentioned this store recently in a post, but I honestly figured there wasn't one anywhere close to me.
I was so excited to see one in the mall and knew I had to check it out!
I loved it!
I didn't try anything on this time, but I will be going back to add a few things to my Birthday/Christmas wish list!

I did pick up this super cute necklace and have been wearing it ever since.
I am not a statement jewelry person, so this was right up my ally!
And it reminded me of a silver one I have had for years :)

I got my first blanket style scarf too!
Strange to say that.
I have quite a few scarves, but none of them are technically blanket ones.
They didn't have the one I picked up online, but it is similar to the one below.
Mine is more orange than beige.
It is super soft!

Next stop was Simply Vague.
If you are from Ohio, or went to college in Ohio, or know someone from Ohio this is a great place to shop!
I could easily buy most of the tees in the store, and I love how they feature local handmade products too!
We walked out with a few new tees and a couple OSU glasses.
I actually saw this one on Instagram and added it to my must have list, so when I saw it in the store I knew it was meant to be!
I love the tees from Pebby Forevee!
Graphic Tees have my heart :)

I saw this tee from Wild Mountain Apparel in store, but they didn't have my size :(
So I jumped on their site and snagged my size with a new customer discount!
Score!

We hit up a few more stores before heading to OshKosh for X.
We made a pit stop at our favorite custard shop before heading home to pick up X :)

Sunday morning I did my normal grocery shopping, and then we waited for our firewood delivery.

Mic and my FIL picked up all that wood and put it in the barn for the winter for us.
And yes, I know that won't be enough to make it through the whole winter in Ohio.
We are told we will need to get at least 2 more dump truck loads to last until March!

Brace yourselves....we DVR'd the Browns game while Mic tended to the firewood.
Yes, I just said that.
When he finally came in, it was lunch and nap time so we only watched a bit of the game before we all fell asleep.
We woke up about 6:15pm and immediately hit resume on the game.
My new tee did the trick and the Browns came away with the win yesterday!

This guy can get a little cranky after late naps, so when he woke up he didn't want us to watch the game :(

But then he perked up and gave some lovin' to Diamond :)

And yes, we are still sleeping on air mattresses.
Beds will be coming soon!

And that my friends was our weekend!
Did your favorite team win?
Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
Are you an online shopper or in store?
Where do you score the best deals?

Enough questions.
Enjoy your Monday!

I need $15 to get to free shipping on Amazon, get the kids something for Christmas, haha. I have no idea what we are getting anyone this year...yikes! 10 more Saturdays! That puts it in perspective. double yikes.
