Happy Wednesday!
It is once again time to link up with Sheaffer and Shay for What's up Wednesday - October Edition!

What we're eating this week...

Monday - Pulled Pork
Tuesday - Taco Boats
Wednesday - Chicken Alfredo
Thursday - Pizza & Candy...It's Halloween!
Friday - Leftovers
Weekend - Out

What I'm reminiscing about...

Things are moving so fast these days with school, sports, work, etc.
I haven't had a moment to even think about the past! lol!

What I'm loving...

That we are finally seeing some of the bigger things being done at the house!
You can check out my mini update here :)

What we've been up to...

We kicked off the month with our annual trip to Minster, Ohio for Oktoberfest with friends!

Mic and I casually celebrated 13 years of marriage while running some errands. lol!

X was student of the week and loved every minute of it!

We finished up an amazing fall soccer season!

Had lunch with X at school :)

Mic and I went to see Carrie Underwood and she was incredible!!!

I celebrated a friend and her little baby boy on the way :)

X had his final flag football game of the season on a high school field under the lights!
His team even came away in 1st place!

We met some friends to cheer on the high school boys soccer team at their District title match.

And they won in OT!!
Good Luck tonight against Bay!

We rounded out the last weekend of October celebrating my brother's 37th birthday!

What I'm dreading...

All the end of the year stuff for work, while still trying to enjoy the holidays, birthdays, etc.

What I'm working on...

Planning X's 8th Birthday Party!!
I need to find a place to have the party.
If you are local I appreciate any suggestions you may have :)

What I'm excited about...

The holidays!
We won't be back in our house, but I'm not letting that get me down!
I am ready to decorate and just soak in all the things :)

What I'm watching/reading...

This Is Us, A Million Little Things, The Masked Singer, Dancing with the Stars, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist

And this past weekend I was sucked into the Christmas movie black hole! lol!

And I am about to start the newest season of Schitt's Creek on Netflix! :)

What I'm listening to...

Not gonna lie...Christmas music!
It just puts me in a better mood!

And so many more!

What I'm wearing...

Boots, booties, jeans, sweaters, etc.
Yay for fall weather!

What I'm doing this weekend...

We are kicking things off on Thursday night with Trick-or-Treat!

We are celebrating X's bestie turning 8 years old!

This photo was taken just over a year ago...they look SO TINY!!!!

And I am getting things ready to decorate our tree!
Every year since I was pregnant with X (he was due December 3rd) we have put up our Christmas tree around November 1st.
We don't host Thanksgiving, so it gives us more time to soak it all up!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Celebrating my grandma's 85th birthday :)

Thanksgiving - Food, Family & Football!!!

Christmas shopping! - I despise shopping honestly, but I love a good crowd! lol!
Every year I love going out on Black Friday just to be in the hustle and bustle of things :)

What else is new...

Super excited for X to get back to basketball practice and games in November!

Thanks as always for stopping by!

The Friday Faves #43

Friday, October 25, 2019

Happy Friday!
I am so ready for the weekend!
Every night this week (including tonight) we had something going on, so I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend being pretty chill.

Linking up with Andrea, Narci & Erika for another week of favorites :)

I attended a baby shower for a friend on Sunday afternoon and everything was gorgeous!
And here are the only two pictures I took the entire time I was there...

Kelli did an amazing job as always with the decor, food, etc.
Looking forward to meeting Baby Boy Liersemann soon!

Monday night X played his last game of the flag football season under the stadium lights!
This isn't our high school stadium, but that didn't matter!
These kids loved every minute of being out on that field!

And they came away with a big win!
They ended the season in 1st place!

One last time...GO BRONCOS!!!!

Beyond proud of this guy playing two sports at a time!
He rocked his soccer season, and learned so much during his first season of football.

We ended our week watching our local high school soccer team win the district title last night!!!
Go Big Lex!!!
And shout out to our friend Pete (Lex Head Coach), you did an amazing job!

In other news....

On the blog this week I am giving away advanced screening passes to see Last Christmas on November 5th, at AMC Easton (Columbus, Ohio).
If you are in the central Ohio area head here to enter now!

Yesterday, I threw caution to the wind and rambled a bit about what is going on in my head lately :/

Thanks as always for stopping by!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Just Rambling...

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Today I am taking a break from the home updates and inspiration posts.
Today I am just rambling about the things that keep me up at night.

Did you ever notice you tend to take on the personality traits or mannerisms of the company you keep?
You better chose wisely about who you spend time with, because they can really influence your thoughts, actions, etc.

We are all technically responsible for ourselves.
But I feel that if you are around someone for quite some time you can start to think, act, and talk like them.
You may even start comparing your life to theirs.

Don't do it friends!
It is a dark, dark place from what I'm told.

I'm not really sure if it was something I was taught as a child, or something that just has always been in me.
I don't really understand jealousy.
I don't understand the want to out do someone and rub their nose in it.

I never felt I had any more or less than anyone else as a kid.
As an adult I know that is how life is, but it doesn't faze me.

Why get worked up if someone has a bigger house, a nicer car, a picture perfect spouse, is skinnier/prettier, etc.?

Why are so many people focused on the haves and have nots?

Why does it matter what religion you are or political party you side with?

None of these things mattered to you as a kid...so why do you let that control you now?

I try to keep things light hearted around here, but these kind of things just eat at me as I scroll through social media or just talk to friends.

What prompted me to share this with you all instead of letting it just stay inside my head?

I was flipping through the channels on TV the other night and I came across It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!
I remember every year as a kid being so excited when the holiday episodes of cartoons and such would air on TV.
I am still happy to see them come on each year.
As I sat there and casually watched this cartoon for what felt like the millionth time in my life I listened to the words.

This part (minus the pumpkin) is what I have been saying my entire life.

Enough rambling for one day.
I appreciate you all just letting me be myself and speak what I feel.

See you back here tomorrow for Friday Favorites :)

#LastChristmasMovie | Advanced Screening Giveaway

Monday, October 21, 2019

From the studio that brought you Love Actually comes the feel-good movie of the holiday season!
Universal Pictures presents Last Christmas.
Featuring the music of George Michael.

Last Christmas - In Theaters November 8th
Official Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | #LastChristmasMovie

Kate (Emilia Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop.
Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life an starts to see through so many of Kate's barriers.
As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two.
But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may,
you gotta listen to your heart...
and you gotta have faith.

Watch and share the trailer for LAST CHRISTMAS, starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.

For a chance to win a pass for you and a guest to the screening at 7pm on November 5th at AMC Easton, click the link below.

The Friday Faves #42

Friday, October 18, 2019

Grab some coffee...it's a big one!

Linking up with Andrea, Narci & Erika for...

X was the Star Student of the week last week, and he was super excited on Friday morning to get to school.
Each week the star student gets to read a book of their choice to the class, share about themselves with a poster, be line leader, etc.
His teacher sent me these sweet pictures of my guy doing his thing 😍😍

And then all the second graders celebrated #NationalAppleCrunchDay 🍎🍏

Can you spot X?

We kept things super low key on Friday evening because we had a weekend full of soccer games!
The boys played SO WELL!!!
They played two games on Saturday and one on Sunday morning, and won them all!
That meant they were heading into the championship game!

They played a team we faced earlier in the season and tied at 0-0.
Both teams were undefeated heading into this game.
Our boys played so well!
We ended the game once again tied at 0-0.
They played a 5 minute overtime and held the other team off until the final 30 seconds when a foul was called against one of our boys.
It was so sad to see our little guys lose 1-0, but we were all beyond proud of how well they all played together!

And the best part of it all for the boys...they did get runner's up medals :)
I can't wait to see what these boys do together in the spring!

And as a reminder...this league is U10.
X is still only 7 years old!

We spent the last few hours of our weekend getting ready for the new week and chillin' at home.

On Monday we joined X for lunch at school, followed by the book fair!

I had a nice dinner with friends on Monday night and took 0 pictures 🙎
But a good time was had by all :)

X had school pictures on Wednesday and I wanted to document what he looked like before we left just in case things were messed up by the time they took his picture. 😂
He decided to stand and look just like this...

Changing gears for a moment....

On the blog this week I recapped our Oktoberfest fun with friends!

On Tuesday Talk I asked for your thoughts on youth sports.

And I shared a mini update on the progress of Our Home Renovation on Thursday.

Wednesday evening Mic and I headed north to see Carrie Underwood with my dad and step mom.
Our seats were SO GOOD!!!

My phone is super old and my pictures look like we are so far away.
We were about 50 feet at most from the stage.

Runaway June was up first.
Unfortunately, I don't know any of their music so I couldn't really understand what they were singing :(

Next up was Maddie and Tae.
Despite only knowing a few of their songs, I thought they sounded really good!

And then it was time for Carrie!

It was an amazing show!

And speaking of my phone, this is basically how I operate...

And that my friends is my week!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
