Linking up with Mel, Shay & Sheaffer for...

What we're eating this week...
The weather is amazing this week, so we are hoping to finally use the grill for the first time this season!
We enjoyed ribs, potato salad, and corn on the cob for Memorial Day :)
The rest of the week is grilled chicken, watermelon, and salads.

What I'm reminiscing about...
Facebook on this day has been crazy lately with cuteness!
Look at that drool!!!

What I'm loving...
Shorter hair!
I go back in a few weeks and I am really thinking about chopping more off.
The only problem is that my hair does not hold curl or any style at all!
I need your help!
What products do you use?

What we've been up to...
What haven't we been up to?
X just finished up the Spring season of soccer this past weekend and he totally rocked it!
As much as I dislike soccer, I loved watching him develop and truly start to understand the game.

Now we are in full swing (pun intended) into t-ball season.
Don't expect many pics since I am helping coach again this year :/

And we went to Disney World!
You can read part 1 of our Disney trip here, and part 2 will be live tomorrow :)

What I'm dreading...
Summer heat :(
Our pool isn't working properly and looks like it might need completely replaced.
Which now has me looking up pools like crazy!
I would like something pretty simply, but I am open to your ideas.
Do you have a pool at your house?
If so, what kind is it?
Fiberglass, cement, a liner?
What shape is it?
Automatic cover?

What I'm working on...
Getting our plans in order for the remodel of of our house!
EEK!
While I am completely dreading the whole process of it (we have no idea where we are going to live while it is going on), I am looking forward to the finished product :)
(these aren't our plans, but they are so fun to look at!)

What I'm excited about...
X spending the summer at his new baby sitter's house.
That probably sounds weird, but trying to find a babysitter for the summer since I work full-time is hard around here.
Most of my friends are SAHM's or teachers so they don't struggle with this over the summer.
Last year we had a wonderful babysitter who stayed with X at our house each day.
They did activities, but I felt he missed out on getting to play with other kids.
Plus, I feel he became a bit needy/spoiled after getting so much one-on-one time.
So this year we found someone who is at home with her two girls that was willing to watch X.
He was so excited to start going there yesterday!
And I am so happy that he seems to be enjoying himself :)
I even got a few pictures already from his first day!
He even asked to take a nap!!!!!
I pray that he truly enjoys his summer!

What I'm watching/reading...
I just finished watching The Voice,
still watching the final season of Pretty Little Liars (only few left),
and I started watching Glee on Netflix.
I watched the final season or two when it was actually on TV, but decided to go back to the beginning.
There are so many things that now make sense to me now!

What I'm listening to...

And the new Beatles channel on Sirius radio :)

What I'm wearing...
These earrings from Nickel & Suede!
I can't wait to place another order for some more colors!
These are the signature gold in small and they are a perfect fit for me and SO lightweight!

And all the Cleveland gear I have!
EEK!
The Cleveland Cavaliers are back in the finals for the NBA championship!!!
GO CAVS!!!

What I'm doing this weekend...
This is actually one of our lighter weekends this month!
We have X's soccer party followed by a birthday party for one of our friends' kids :)

What I'm looking forward to next month...
Lots of t-ball, lots of birthday parties (we have at least one every single weekend of the month!),
graduation parties, X will be attending Safety Town, and my niece will be turning 1 years old!

What else is new....
X graduated from preschool last week and is officially moving on to Kindergarten in the Fall!
We can't wait!

In other news, I ordered this coffee from Lyn Marie's Coffee and I can't wait to try it!

Bonus Question: What is your favorite vacation spot?
If I have to pick one, I would have to go with Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I just love to get away to the beach!
The smell of saltwater, the sand in your toes, etc. is just so calming to me.
It is an amazing place to take a family or adult vacation.
So many places to eat and things to do for all ages!

Linking up with Andrea, Narci & Erika for....
What a week it has been!
Full of favorites!

Every night of the week and Saturday mornings have been filled with soccer or t-ball for us.
X finishes up his soccer season tonight (fingers crossed it doesn't storm).
He has had a blast playing this Spring!
He absolutely rocked it on Monday night and scored 2 goals and kicked butt at goalie!
It was so fun to watch and made us so proud!
He has really grown this season and as much as it pains me to say, I look forward to watching him again in the Fall.
#soccerstillisntmyfavorite

Look what came in the mail on Saturday!!!
If you know me at all, I am not an earring person.
The weight, the poking, etc. just isn't for me.
But I decided to order the signature gold pair from Nickel & Suede to give them a try.
I LOVE THEM!
My new favorites for sure!
They are seriously so lightweight that I forgot I had them in :)

After afternoon naps for X and I on Saturday we headed to Kroger and made a stop at my favorite coffee spot for the new Midnight Mint Mocha Frap.
Free Starbucks is always a favorite so I went with the venti!
It was good, but I think I will stick with my S'mores frap for the summer :)

While X and I were picking up our groceries I spotted this...
EEK!
Our favorite BBQ sauce is now in MY Kroger!!!!
I could hear the angels singing when I spotted it.
I picked up a few bottles and pray that is stays stocked from now on.

On Sunday X and I pretended to be his favorite thing...Ninjas!

It is hard to get a good picture when he is moving all around, but we had so much fun!

When I was running errands I discovered that channel 13 on Sirius radio was Prom radio for a limited time!
OMG!!!! I heard so many of my favorites, and boy did they take me right back to high school!
Unfortunately, the channel has already changed to Carolina Shag for now....but that is great too!

I couldn't wait to rock those new earrings I mentioned above,
so I threw them on with one of my favorite dresses for work and headed out the door.
Again, I didn't feel them at all throughout the day!
And for size reference I ordered the small.

Tuesday night we had t-ball!
My favorite number is at bat :)
Thankfully my dad was there to take a few pics for me since I am coaching and Mic was helping out as well.

X received a bug catching kit at school that day and he couldn't wait to try it out!
He now says it is one of his favorite things to do, and is planning on catching lots of bugs this summer.
Boo! :(

One of my favorite shows had its season finale on Tuesday night.
I loved Lauren and Chris so I was fine with either one of them winning :)
This was an amazing performance!

But I think Lauren's original song was my favorite of the night :)
Did you watch the Voice?
Who were your favorites?

Wednesday night my favorite player was back in his uniform for baseball pictures.
And then he played at the park next door for a little bit before we headed back home.

I found some more hilarious Instagram favorites this week...
Now this one is not a favorite, but more of a "Seriously?"
I saw this post and I swear there was a #goals on it!
I know Cher doesn't look bad for 71, but that outfit has got to go!!!!

This is so me!

And I loved this one too!

Thursday was my little guy's last day of preschool!
We are so proud of him and all that he has learned this year.
We are all beyond pumped for Kindergarten to begin in the Fall :)
#favorites

I can't wait to continue to watch all these littles grow and learn together over the years!
I truly hope they continue to be friends :)

So now what?
I am skipping work today and celebrating the first day of summer with my favorite guy!

Then we have soccer, t-ball, a birthday party, and more this weekend!
I hope you all have a fantastic and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Linking up with Andrea @ Momfessionals for...

Today is all about the best and worst trips we have been on.

I have mentioned before on here, but I will say it again.
Mic and especially me are creatures of habit when it comes to going on weekend getaways or vacations.
I like to think of it more as we know what we like :)
I also love going places in general, where Mic is more of a homebody (if he is able to be) so there really isn't a trip or vacation I could say that was horrible for me.
But for the sake of this post I have a few ideas up my sleeve ;)

Let's begin with the BEST!

Let me be honest for a moment...Disney World of course is on the best list.
But I am not going to lie, there were some stressful times throughout our trip.
At one point I even said to Mic..everyone calls this the happiest place on earth, but all you see are stressed out parents trying to get from ride to ride, or reservations, or crying kids, etc.
I loved being there for the first time, and would love to go back but I definitely have a different perspective about it.
Plus, Mic and I realized he is not meant to walk around "amusement parks" all day, nor does he enjoy being around large crowds of people.
Next trip to Disney I need some new travel buddies! lol!
You can read about our Disney trip - Days 1-4 here and I am hope to get the rest posted later this week.

Mic and I visited one of our friends when he lived in New York City twice.
Once in December and again a year or so later in the Spring.
Both were truly amazing trips for me!
I am all about the crowds of people, the chaotic traffic, the lights, the excitement, etc.
We saw the Rockefeller Center tree lit up for Christmas, and we strolled through Central Park in the Spring.

If I could pick anywhere in the US to move right now it would have to be Savannah, Georgia.
(I blogged a little bit more about it here.)
We spent our honeymoon there, and have gone back a couple times since then.
We loved it!
The food, the people, the environment.
It is just so welcoming!

I absolutely adore Cincinnati, Ohio!
It is a close 2nd to Cleveland in my book of best cities in Ohio :)
It is just a few hours drive for us and it never disappoints!
We have been there multiple times, but twice now we have spent Mother's Day weekend there (2016 and 2013).

Honorable Mention
Mic and I spent a weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana about 8 years ago and fell in love with it!
We went during the playoffs for NFL.
There was a huge crowd in the lobby/restaurant area of our hotel watching the Colts play on a giant TV.
Perfect evening in my eyes ;)
We sat with some local football players and watched and cheered on the Colts to victory!
It was just so fun!

I grew up going to Frankenmuth, Michigan and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with my family.
We typically went to Bronner's Christmas store in the winter months (you must go there sometime!) and then headed south to Myrtle Beach for some fun in the sun during the summer.
Both are great places to visit and hold so many memories.

Check out all of my vacation/weekend getaways recaps here :)

Worst Moments

Like I said above, I can't say I have ever been on a horrible trip but I can't come up with some moments that weren't too great.
We spent our family vacation last year in Destin, Florida (part 1 and part 2).
The resort area we stayed in was gorgeous, the pool was my favorite to date, and the colors of the gulf were more amazing than I thought possible!
But the food choices weren't too good, it rained almost every day we were there (all day), and things were way more expensive than I thought they should be.
I would definitely go back to our resort and that beautiful greenish blue water, but I would need to do a lot more research on places to eat and things to do if it rains!

We went to a wedding in Lawrence, Kansas (home of the Kansas Jayhawks) about 7 years ago.
We actually spent a few extra days there to explore the area and were really looking for some good BBQ since we were on the outskirts of Kansas City.
Nothing! Actually we found more Mexican restaurants than anything else (Mic and I aren't big fans).
If it wasn't a Mexican restaurant it was a custard shop...so that worked out ;)
I know it is a college town, but it just didn't impress me.
We even took a drive into the heart of Kansas City but it just didn't do anything for me.

So now I need your help!
Have you been to Destin or Kansas City?
If so, please give me your recs/suggestions/ideas on what to check out, where to eat, etc.
I would love to go back to each of them and give them another shot :)
