Disney Vacation Part 1

WARNING!!!!
PICTURE OVERLOAD AHEAD!!!

Day 1

The countdown was finally over on May 1st!
We hopped on a plane in Cleveland and headed south to Orlando :)
Once there we took a ride on Disney's Magical Express that dropped us off right at our resort.

We received our first visit buttons at check-in and couldn't wait to take a picture of it!
#mustdocumentitall

We stayed at Disney's Beach Club Resort and it was wonderful!
When I was working with Erika, she mentioned how great the location was of this resort and it was even better than anticipated!
Plus, the pool and water slide were one of X's favorite things about our whole trip!

The only downside (if there is one) was that we had requested to get a king size bed instead of the two queens.
Unfortunately, they didn't have one available when we checked in but they did offer to move us as soon as one was available later in the week.
We opted to stay in our two queen room instead of moving all of our things :)
It actually worked out really well (you will see why later in my recap).

We dropped off our carry on items and headed out to Disney Springs.
We arrived around lunch time, so it was the perfect place to get a bite to eat and check out the shops and such.
We ate lunch at The Polite Pig which is fairly new to Disney Springs.
By the way - it was a QUICK SERVICE meal :)
I didn't take a picture of any of our food except these super cute carrots X got with his meal, but it was all SO SO good!
I HIGHLY recommend eating there if you are at Disney Springs.

After lunch we checked out the stores...first stop the Lego store!

I didn't take a single picture while we were in the World of Disney store because I was in awe of the place!
I could have spent at least half of day in there looking everything they had to offer!

I don't know about you, but I have heard about these Sprinkles cupcake ATM's for awhile now but had never saw one in person until now.
So neat!
We ended up going inside to get cupcakes to see what the hype was all about.
Honestly, we weren't impressed :(
And these are not considered a SNACK if you are using the meal plan.

It was raining on and off so we ducked in and out of stores until it was time for our dinner reservation at T-Rex.
FYI: This is one of the only restaurants at Disney that Erika was able to call them directly and get us a reservation since the Disney site itself stated they were completely booked during our trip.

X liked this play area at the restaurant but didn't like that the sand mixture kept filling up his shoes :(

My phone of course died while we were inside, but X loved it inside.
About every 20 minutes a "meteor shower" happens and all the animals come alive.
It was really cool, but really really loud!
The food was pretty good too :)
This was TABLE SERVICE meal on our dining plan.

After dinner we headed back to our resort to change and head to the pool.
It was directly across the water from the Boardwalk.

It was the perfect way to end our first day at Disney World.

And the icing on the cake....we could see part of the fireworks from Epcot every night from our room!
And everyone outside possibly got a show of another kind from this little guy! lol!

Day 2

We had breakfast reservations bright and early at Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom for our first official park day.
Side note: I have never actually watched Peter Pan, but I couldn't resist this tank!
It is so me :)

We were so happy to sit down in some AC after we basically had to run to get to the restaurant.
Seeing as though our reservation was scheduled right before the park actually opens, we had to fight crowds of people to get to the area where they let you through :(
But we made it!
And we ate in a beautiful setting!
Oh, and this counts as a QUICK SERVICE meal on the dining plan!

Unfortunately, it poured a lot that day :(
We were able to duck in and out of places, hit up all of our fast passes for the day, and even ride a couple other rides.

I waited 38 years to ride It's A Small World!
Yes, it was cheesy but I still loved it!

These pictures crack me up!
Look how serious we all are on the Buzz Lightyear ride!!! lol!

When we were standing in line for the Haunted Mansion we saw these tombstones and knew we were meant to ride it!

That's my super uncommon middle name on there!

Have you been on the Haunted Mansion ride?
What does the last mirror/window say to you right before the ride is over?

My first MICKEY food item! :)
And yes, this was a SNACK credit.

The rained finally cleared up as we were making our way to Epcot for dinner reservations at the Biergarten Restaurant in the Germany pavilion of the World Showcase.

I can't say enough about how awesome the World Showcase was!
The attention to detail in every country there is amazing!!!!

The food, the entertainment, the service, etc. was wonderful at the Biergarten!
I highly recommend it!
It is a TABLE SERVICE meal on the dining plan.

We picked up a funnel cake with a SNACK credit on our leisurely walk back to our resort.
Yes, I said walk.
We were only 5 minutes or so from the Beach Club!
It was wonderful!

This guy for some reason loved the these leaves and couldn't help but collecting them each day.

What kid goes all the way to Disney World for the very first time and says his favorite thing about the trip was the Arcade?
This one....

We passed this super cute kid space on our way to our room.
(I believe every resort had an area like this.)

Day 3

We headed to Epcot to experience all the virtual reality/3D we could take!
But not before grabbing a quick photo in the phone booth in the UK!
This is totally fitting for Mic since he loves so many British things :)

We hit up Soarin' and The Seas with Nemo & Friends and had a bit of time to kill before our fast pass for Mission Space.
So we hopped in line to meet Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie :)

For a kid who didn't want much to do with meeting the characters he LOVED getting to meet them and get their autographs in his book!

We found Donald Duck as we were walking back through the World Showcase and X was on a mission to get his autograph as well.
Thankfully the wait time was about 15 minutes so it worked out really well before we headed back to our room to rest before dinner.

We had reservations at Rose & Crown in the UK section of the World Showcase.
If you know me, I don't like seafood but I couldn't resist getting the fish and chips.
That fish, especially that batter was SO GOOD!
Another great place to grab a reservation if you are heading to Disney.
It was a TABLE SERVICE credit on our dining plan.

MICKEY SPRINKLES!!!

We made our way over to the Boardwalk that evening to play a couple games before calling it a night.

This was looking across the water at our resort from the Boardwalk :)

Day 4

Thursday morning we headed out for an adventure!
I am going to be honest, I was not looking forward to this day.
I am not an animal lover at all, but I knew my guys (especially X) were looking forward to it.

We started off the day with Starbucks - Smore's Frap in May!!!

First stop and Fast Pass of the day was the Kilimanjaro Safari tour.
It actually was pretty neat despite being way too close to all those animals!

One of my favorite things of the day was the It's Tough to be a Bug 3D show.
We sat in the first row so we got all the smells, sprays, etc. of the show.
X loved it too!

We stopped for lunch at Flame Tree BBQ and had some friends join us.

The food was just so-so for us, but the free plate of cupcakes since they saw my first visit button were a plus!

We killed some time in the play area again before hitting up our fast pass for the Dinosaur ride.

X said he was a little scared, but when it was over said he LOVED it!

We then hopped on a bus and made our way to the Port Orleans Resort for dinner reservations at Boatwright's Dining Hall.

So I have to share this drink Mic ordered.
This is how it arrived at the table.
Doesn't it look like someone else drank the majority of it before it got to us?
I am guessing this is how it is supposed to be served, it just seemed really weird!
It was called Sazerac.

I ordered this delicious bowl of French Onion Soup with my meal and it did not disappoint!

When it was time for dessert we each ordered something different so we could try it out.
Mic had the chocolate cake with marshmallow & graham cracker crumbs, while I had the creme brulee. YUM!
Again, this was a TABLE SERVICE credit on our dining plan.

We then headed to the Arcade for the Port Orleans resorts.
It was HUGE!
X was definitely in heaven!

We then took a boat back to Epcot and walked the 5 minutes back to our resort.

Still to come...Days 5-8 and my final thoughts about our trip!

Have you been to any of the places I mentioned above?
I would love to hear your thoughts!
Are you planning a trip to Disney World soon?
Any questions for me so far?
