Things Got Real

Monday, November 4, 2013

My weekend technically started Friday since I had to stay home with a sick little guy :(
PS. I give you SAHM's a ton of credit! I so could not do this every day!! Sick & tantrum throwing child all in one is just too much for me!

He is even adorable when he is sick :)

We tried to make the best of our weekend, so X and I stopped by the office on Friday to visit Mic and for me to get a few things done. The 3 of us enjoyed lunch together before parting ways :)

From that point on I was living in Tantrum City :(
X did finally take a 2 1/2 hour much needed nap, so I was able to relax and rest as well.
The rest of the day was filled with playing, and some more tantrums.
And then X fighting Mic and I until 11pm before finally going to bed :(

I honestly didn't want to wake up Saturday since I knew it was another day of the same since Mic had to head into the office again :(
After multiple fits, I finally convinced X to put his shoes and coat on and head out to Target with me.
We had to pick up a birthday gift so we headed to the toy section...
He was wonderful the entire time in the store!
I will admit, when he has a crowd of people to entertain he is usually really well behaved.
He was rewarded with a little 99 cent Hot Wheels car and I was rewarded with a yummy Gingerbread Latte at Starbucks :)

X got a new winter hat that he wouldn't take off :)

Thankfully the afternoon craziness that is now X wasn't too bad, and he actually went down for a nap without a fight.
We played some more afterwards before heading out to dinner with Mic's dad.

Sunday morning came and Mic woke up sick as well! :(
With both guys sick we decided it would be best to stay home from the birthday party. Our day was filled with a few errands for me, rest for Mic, and nap time for X. I was able to drop off the gift for X's friend and they gave us some cute little party favors :)

X enjoying his new construction hat :)

With 2 sick guys I needed another red cup!

Ended the weekend cheering on our Cleveland Browns to victory!

I fully admit to losing the parent battle this weekend :(
I am not perfect by any means, and this kid makes sure to prove that to me on a daily basis. I am not looking to master being a parent, I don't think that is even possible, but I do hope to one day have the upper hand every now and then :)

How was your weekend?

  2. oh my goodness, I am so tired of Tantrum City.
I am starting to read some parenting books because I know I'm not handling things correctly at times.
I want a red cup gingerbread latte! Our nearest Starbucks is over an hour away!

    1. I am sure I don't handle his tantrums correctly :( I probably need to check out those books too!

While I am not a coffee junkie or anything, that would be very sad to not have a Starbucks nearby :( What is the closest city to you?
