Easter Weekend

Monday, April 6, 2015

I now understand why all the schools in my hometown area have Spring Break this week....to give everyone extra days to come down from the sugar high of Easter!
X only received one candy item in his basket and it still felt like he was bouncing off the walls, ceiling, etc.!

I mentioned on Friday how X and I were going to attempt to color eggs on Thursday night.
We did and had lots of fun despite his 5 second attention span.
Since I had a carton and a half of eggs I decided to split them up.
I am not a hard boiled egg, deviled egg, or really any other kind of egg fan (except scrambled) so I didn't want to waste them all. #iamcheap
Don't mind the goofy grin or the fact he is looking past me ;)

He was so proud of his finished eggs and couldn't wait for Mic to eat them!

Friday morning X was off school, but Mic and I still had to work.
So of course we needed to start our day with Starbucks :)

That evening the boys were due for haircuts.
Look at the mop of hair on his head!
Another goofy smile :)

We headed to Red Lobster for dinner after and I still couldn't get a good pic of X with his new haircut.
He doesn't stop moving!
He didn't like the lobsters, but yet couldn't stay away from the tank!

Saturday was a normal morning until my MIL came to pick up X.
Then Mic and I were off to get a new car!
We have been planning this for over a year, so I was excited the day was finally here!
We actually went to get it a few weeks ago, but a stop sale was placed on it for an inspection :(
We were so happy to get the text on April 2, 2015 that we were able to pick it up!
After searching for many, many months to find this vehicle, we are thrilled that we were able to get it in town too!
Black Beauty, my Jeep Grand Cherokee, has been with me for the last 8 years.
She has treated me very well, but it was time get a more reliable vehicle.
Hello Toyota Highlander!
I am so old school! It is going to take me forever to understand everything in this car!
Of  course the very first thing I had to do was make a phone call to "test" it out! lol!

Mic and I celebrated our new addition to the family with a cheap, but wonderful lunch date at Skyline Chili :)
It was perfect!

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny hid X's basket in his tee pee for him to find.

While he did get a couple of the TMNT mutations he was asking for, the rest was books, play doh, and swim trunks for this summer.
That evening we headed over to my in-laws for Easter dinner.
X loves to play along the creek on their property and pick up sticks :)

It was a busy, exhausting, yet productive weekend.
I see many more of those types of weekends in our future!

How was your weekend?
Did you travel to celebrate Easter with family or friends?
And my most important question for you...
What should I name my car?
Help!

Hope you all had an amazing Easter weekend!
