Back to School

I can't believe my little guy starts preschool in two weeks!
You know what that means right?

As a kid back to school shopping was seriously one of my favorite things to do!
New clothes, new shoes, and new school supplies!
Eek! I am giddy just thinking about it!

Since X is only in preschool we don't need much yet.
No book bag, no lunch pail.
Just clothes.

During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I scored a couple of hoodies at some great prices.

I ordered a size up (size 6) so they would last during the Fall and Spring months.
How is my 3 year old wearing size 6 clothes?
Either way, X loved his new jackets :)

On Friday I swung through Target and Old Navy looking to score a few deals during the Tax Free Weekend in Ohio.
I didn't spend enough money to see any big difference, but I still picked up some new things for the coolers days.
Thankfully X still fits into all of his summer clothing that he will begin the school year with.

Unfortunately, Target didn't have any pants in his size so I stocked up on socks and grabbed this tee as well.
X is obsessed with cars/trucks/tractors/etc. and Grave Digger might just be his favorite.
He was so excited to wear this tee :)
Bonus, it glows in the dark!

At Old Navy I hit the jackpot when it came to pants!
While X is potty trained, he does have issues making it to the bathroom on time.
Does anyone else have a kid who literally waits until the last possible moment?
Because of this, he needs pants that are easy to get on and off quickly.
These convertible pants are perfect!
Light weight, easy to move around in, and easy for a the kid who waits to the last minute ;)

I only found a couple of long sleeve shirts, but 2 is better than none.
And, he can always throw on a hoodie or jacket if need be.

Of course I couldn't pass up this rain/wind jacket for him.
Or this zip hoodie.
I am a sucker for jackets/coats/hoodies!

As for shoes X is good right now.
We picked up these UA tennis shoes and two pairs of his favorite Sperry's at the beginning of the Summer and they are all doing well.
Of course, as the weather changes we will need to get him some boots!
I mean we do live in the country now.
With a creek.
And it is Ohio, so we do get quite a bit of snow ;)

I think both either would be great for him!
Now I just need to hunt for a new winter jacket for him!

Do you have a little starting school this year?
Where do you do your back to school shopping?
Any brands or deals I am missing out on?

  1. I think ALL kids wait until the very last minute to go! You got some cute things! Is layering a tee over a long sleeve tee still "cool" these days?! That could add extra warmth without being too bulky (and get more use out of the two you have) Now I want to go shopping ;)
