The weather for most of the summer was was rainy and humid.
The weather has been a bit nicer in August, but with all the moving going on we haven't been able to truly enjoy it.
Hence, why I am looking forward to Fall!
Either way, today is about my favorite summer moment.
Mine happened way back in June.
We took our family vacation to Tybee Island, Georgia.
Just the three of us :)
This was the first vacation for the three of us without any family or friends coming along.
This was huge!
This also meant Mic and I had to entertain X for the entire trip.
Just us.
Easier said than done my friends.
Either way, it was a great time visiting one of mine and Mic's favorite places :)
Here is a look back on some of my favorite moments during our 2015 vacation.
And yes, most of my favorite moments revolve around this kid :)
You can read all about our trip and the places we ate at or visited here and here.
Now let's get to the fun stuff of the week! My favorites!
I started my week off on a wonderful note!
I came home from work on Monday night to this...
My absolute FAVORITE TV show!
Oh how I love Tim Riggins and FNL!
And now I love the Pivot channel for re airing the series every night from 5-9pm!
HEAVEN!
On Tuesday, my big bad 3year old started his first full year of preschool at a new school.
To say I was nervous the night before and the entire first day would be an understatement!
After dinner on Monday, we baked up every one's favorite - chocolate chips cookies!
It didn't calm my nerves, but it made this guy happy :)
We woke up the next morning excited for X's new adventure!
Here are his favorites as of Tuesday morning :)
This kid sure is my favorite :)
Both of these boys have my heart :)
We walked into his new preschool and he immediately ran off to play.
Couldn't ask for a better drop-off!
And there was absolutely no crying!
I mean, I didn't cry when we brought him to daycare 3 years ago and I am not crying now.
#sorrynotsorry
I couldn't be more proud of that little guy and how well he is adapting to a new house and new school over the last few weeks.
I pray he has a wonderful year with his new school, teacher, and friends.
No time for homemade goodies when mommy is working all day :(
But we did manage to keep one of my favorite back to school traditions alive and have cupcakes when X got home from school!
#ThankYouKroger
He looks like he is really focused on eating that cupcake!
Shortly after that, we found out it was exhaustion!
Poor little guy fell asleep while eating dinner at 6pm!
Watching him sleep is definitely a favorite!
Unfortunately, he woke up by 8;15pm :(
So bedtime was a little rough, but we were thankfully able to get him back to sleep by 10:15.
At the time of writing this, we are officially done with 2 full days of school and things seem to be going well.
He is still tired, but is excited to go see his new friends each day :)
I hope that excitement keeps up all year long!
Actually, I hope it keeps with him all through his school years.
I had a splitting headache on Wednesday night so there was no making dinner for me.
We changed clothes after work and headed out for some comfort food on this perfectly cool evening.
I actually wore my blardigan outside of the house for the first time!
It was so comfy!
And I paired it with my favorite booties that I picked up from Nordstrom last year in the Anniversary Sale.
Any guesses where we found comfort food at?
We love Cracker Barrel!
High on the list of favorites for the whole family :)
That kid devoured those huge pancakes!
My headache called for caffeine, or chocolate, or something ;)
So I ordered coca cola cake!
Have you ever had this?
I have loved it for years!
My favorite dessert they serve!
On the docket this weekend is putting things away at the new house, and attending our annual Fantasy Draft at my dad's house!
Any suggestions on who I should draft?
There is a chill in the air that puts a smile on my face.
That means that Fall is on its way!
Think all things pumpkins, apples, leaves, sweaters, boots, warm drinks, scarves, fires, and football!
I am perking up in my chair just thinking about it all!
Fall also means opening up the windows, airing out the house, and putting out some seasonal decor!
I have already spent way too much time on Pinterest looking at ideas for decorating the house for Autumn (and maybe Christmas too - but I will save those for another day).
These photos make me what to curl up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and watch some football!
My love for mason jars is nuts some days!
I actually had them at my wedding many years ago before it was the "cool thing" to have.
And now that I see this photo below, I will probably get some more to do this!
Mason jars & candy corn & candy pumpkins! Oh my!
Now believe it or not, I might be able to pull something like this next photo off!
We have a big barn that sits at the front of our driveway and this would be so much fun to do!
And don't forget to check out my Halloween board while you are there too!
What are some of your favorite ways to decorate for Fall or Halloween?
And I have another great giveaway for you!

That probably sounds really dull and boring, but I crave routine!
I like things to go in order, and know the how/when/where/etc of my daily life.
This every day not knowing what is happening for dinner or sometimes even lunch is driving me crazy!
What I'm watching/reading
The few moments I have been able to watch TV it has been playing catch up with Chasing Life, watching the finales of Pretty Little Liars and The Astronauts Wives Club, and trying to get through season 2 of Banshee on Google Play before all my Fall shows start.
What shows are you looking forward to returning?
Are there any new shows that have caught your eye?
I am super excited for The Blacklist to return and Heroes Reborn to start!
What I'm listening to
Lots of Eric Church, well mainly Talladega because that is X's favorite song!
When he isn't in the car, I am currently loving...
What I'm wearing
Mad for Plaid!
I am over sandals, tees/tanks, and shorts!
Bring on the flannel shirts, boots, and jeans!
With the cooler temps this week I have been rockin' my favorite denim jacket (same brand), some booties, and my new plaid shirt!
Sorry, but I can't find it anywhere online :(
Must find a new spot to take #ootd pics!
