While it sounds like most of you are enjoying a 3 day weekend, I am at work today :(
But that is ok. The stock market is closed so not much can truly be done.
Plus, I kind of had a 3 day weekend last weekend :)
Speaking of last weekend, on Friday I took the day off for a doctor appt and when I was finished I stopped for a solo lunch at Chick-fil-A.
Since we don't have one in the field I take full advantage of eating at my favorite fast food joint when I am near one :)
When I got back home I got to work on some of the painting projects we have left to do before we list our house for sale.
A favorite for me this week is how much better our front door looks painted white!
I can't believe we left it a creamy yellow for the last 9 years!
I forget to take a picture after the second coat of paint, but you get the idea.
After picking up X from daycare we got back to our typical Friday night and had our favorite pizza and watched Cars 2.
Technically I finished painting the front door on Saturday morning before we headed out to our neighbors house for a birthday party.
It was freezing for June 27th, but thankfully the rain stayed away during the party.
We headed home to take naps (or at least X did) before we went to our friend's house for an evening of chit chat and baby toes :)
This little guy is just the cutest!
X's favorite moment of the night was getting to tickle Nico's toes :)
Sunday morning we woke up and X requested pancakes.
So I threw them together super fast and added some whip cream and a strawberry as a nose.
X loved his Mickey Mouse pancake as he described it :)
Making that kid happy never gets old and is always a favorite :)
Sundays are meant for drives in my book!
It was one of my favorite things to do as a kid and still is!
We headed about an hour out of town and stopped at a Mexican joint for some lunch.
Since X was very good at lunch he was able to try out the grabber game thing.
I was skeptical, but it did say everyone is a winner. #yeahright
But it proved me wrong and X came away with a yellow bouncy ball :)
It still is his favorite toy at the moment since that ball was able to get in the bath tub with him!
Good thing they are still available at Target!
We had a few errands to run, so when we finished we told X he could get some ice cream.
Unfortunately, our favorite shop was already closed for the evening :(
McDonald's and their 49 cent vanilla cone saved the day!
What are you making for your Fourth of July celebrations this weekend?
I have not one, not two, but three parties to added between Saturday and Sunday and I need some ideas!
I will narrow it down for you...I need desserts ideas!
Preferably simple and few ingredients, but at this point I don't really care since it is Friday and I still don't know what I am making!
HELP!
Hope you all have a wonderful, yet safe weekend celebrating the good ole' USA!
