Happy Friday! I swear I am still trying to catch up on sleep from this past weekend. Fingers crossed I'll be back to normal next week. Today is going to be short and sweet :) On Wednesday, I shared all about our September and what's coming up in October! You can see all the fun we had this past weekend and more :)
So technically this post isn't about our home renovation, but it is still home related ;)
Today I'm sharing some super cute items I've found that I would love to decorate with for Fall. But first, if you missed any of my home renovation posts you can check them out below. Let The Remodeling Begin Update #1 X's Bedroom X's Bathroom Laundry/Mudroom Pantry Update #2 Master Bedroom I don't typically decorate for Fall, but once we are back in our house I am sure I will be adding some fun seasonal pieces. I pretty much love anything black and white. These pillow covers are a great way to add some seasonal decor without breaking the bank. This set of 4 is just under $20 and prime eligible :)
I love a good pop of color as well, and I think these leaf pillow covers would be perfect. They just under $14 for a set of 4!
Honestly, I think I want these wood slice coasters for year round use! They are perfect since I live in the woods. But no matter where you live, I think these would be a great addition during the Fall and Winter months.
I do love all things Fall, but I am most looking forward to decorating for one of my favorite holidays....Halloween! It is seriously just behind Christmas for me! My brother's birthday is super close to Halloween, so he had quite a few Halloween themed parties when he was younger and I loved every one of them. I have a feeling there is at least one Halloween party at my house in my future! But it doesn't all have to be spiders, cobwebs, and creepy things. This glittery candle holder is a great piece for your dining table or kitchen island.
If I'm hosting a party, I will be serving some adult beverages #justsaying Love these fun wine glasses that are currently on sale for under $13!
And when those cooler temps finally happen, you can chill under one of these blankets that scream FALL!
They are under $25 each and prime eligible! They have Christmas colors as well :) Do you decorate for Fall or Halloween? What type of decor do you use? Do you go all out or just a few subtle pieces? Wishing you all a wonderful Thursday! XOXO ~ Vanessa
I mentioned this last week, but I feel it deserves another...
My friend (and X's teacher this year), Lindsay, asked her friends on her personal FB page to sponsor a child in her classroom this year to receive books.
For just $10, a child will receive 10 new books (1 each month + one for their birthday).
There was actually enough donations for each child in the class to receive 20 new books!
This is such a great idea!!!
We all received a photo of the kiddos sharing their first month of books :)
What we've been up to...
If we aren't at the soccer fields...
we are at the football fields!
We have been busy going from practices and games, but I wouldn't have it any other way :) X just attended a birthday for a sweet classmate, and got to play a little cornhole with his bestie.
Our town had it's second annual Oktoberfest this past weekend, so we threw on our hats and stopped by to grab some German food and a couple adult beverages :)
The kiddos had a blast playing a pick up game of soccer,
and climbing all over the bounce houses!
On Sunday I headed north to tailgate and go to the Cleveland Browns game with my dad. We opted to tailgate on the west bank of the river and take a boat over to the stadium.
This view from Lake Erie never gets old!
Sunday Night Football!!!!
At halftime one of my favorites was honored and inducted in the Ring of Honor in the stadium. Clay Matthews is truly a great guy, and I'm praying this is his year to also be inducted into the Football Hall of Fame!
It was so sweet that his son was able to run out after halftime and give him a quick hug before he went onto beat my Browns 20-13. Honestly, I'm still a proud fan regardless of the loss. What I'm dreading...
Nothing really
What I'm working on...
Meal planning for next week, while listening to Netflix ;)
What I'm excited about...
All things Fall! Give me all the sweaters, boots, scarves, cooler temps, leaves changing colors, etc.!!!!
What I'm watching/reading...
Dancing With The Stars - I'm a fan of Lauren Alaina, Kel Mitchell, Ray Lewis, and of course James Van Der Beek!
Blue Bloods - Currently finishing up season 7 on Netflix.
And quite a few of my favorite shows are back this week!
This Is Us, A Million Little Things, The Masked Singer And I'm looking forward to seeing Almost Family.
What I'm listening to...
And I'm that mom that loves to see my child smile on the way to school when he hears a song he likes.
We kicked off Tuesday morning with a little Tupac...it's the edited version ;)
What I'm wearing...
Layers - The mornings are finally starting to be a bit cooler around here, but by the afternoon it is still in the 80's.
What I'm doing this weekend...
9am soccer game followed by a weekend of watching football
Speaking of Halloween....we found X's costume for this year! He was super pumped to get the Skull Trooper costume from Fortnite! Fingers crossed we don't have any accidents like last year :/ FYI: I found this costume at Target for half the price most places show the exact same one online.
And that is it my friends! Thanks for stopping by today! XOXO ~ Vanessa
Happy Friday! Just like every Friday, I'm sharing some of my favorite moments from this past week :) Last Friday X's class celebrated National Dot Day with lots of fun activities. Pictures like this make me so happy!
Our weekend was spent doing laundry, cleaning, and watching football.
Monday night was a busy one!
X had a 6:30 game that a few of us were a little nervous for.
We played this coach last season and they were our most challenging competitor.
Thankfully, while they were more tough than we had faced so far...we still came away with a 2-0 WIN!
Then we went home as fast as we could because the Cleveland Browns were on Monday Night Football!
While it wasn't a pretty game, my guys came away with the 23-3 WIN!!!!
Tuesday night we were back at the soccer fields for another game against another tough team.
We went back and forth the entire game, but with about 5 minutes to go our boys scored to make it 4-3.
We scored two more insurance goals (1 by X 😁) to come away with a 6-3 WIN!
More pics from school :)
This time the kiddos were outside reading some of their new books they recently received.
There is X and his bestie in the middle of the grass together :)
X's teacher (Hi Lindsay!) shared an opportunity to sponsor a child in her classroom this year where for just $10 they would receive one new book a month, plus one on their birthday :)
There were enough donations that every child is receiving two books each time!
On the blog this week I linked up with Ashley and Erika for Tuesday Talk. My topic - Self Care! Head here to check it :)
I also shared another home reno post. This time I showed a look at what we are planning for our Master Bedroom! Back to sports...because that has filled the majority of my week! See that team sitting in the #1 spot after two weeks?
It's me!!!! Now I know it may not last long...but I'll celebrate it while I can! Speaking of celebrating...I'm going to the Browns game this Sunday night! They will be inducting Clay Matthews into the Ring of Honor! I think I might pull out my mom's signed jersey she gave me and rock it for the game :)
I'm ending the week with some pics of X's flag football game last night (courtesy of my mom). They won big with a score 35-12! X is still playing a lot of defense (due to not being able to go to practice because of soccer games), but he is doing great! He did get in on a few more offensive plays this week too :)
And that has been our week! Tonight is full of laundry and errands, followed by a 9am soccer game on Saturday morning, a birthday party at 2pm, Lexington Oktoberfest, and then I am heading north on Sunday for the Browns to take on the Rams on Sunday Night Football!!! What are your weekend plans? Thanks as always for stopping by! XOXO ~ Vanessa Linking up with Andrea, Narci & Erika!
