So wonderful readers of mine :) I need some ideas! At the moment we are thinking of just taking a couple day trips or long weekends with X this year, and then (crossing my fingers) taking a week long vacation just the 2 of us :)
So here is the info you need to know before throwing out ideas...
We are looking for toddler friendly activities, places, etc.
Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on things
Drive time for long weekends = 4-5 hours and under
A week long vacation is much, much harder for us to plan :( Mic and I are just so different! I love going to the beach for vacations! Laying out on the sand, playing in the ocean = Heaven! I also enjoy doing things in general on trips. I don't like just going somewhere and then "relaxing" all week. Mic = complete opposite! He much rather go somewhere in the mountains, or that has a historical something or other. He wants a good view so he can sit and "relax" all week looking at the view :( Hence our dilemma on figuring out where to go!
Here is where we have been before:
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (too many times to count!)
Savannah, Georgia (honeymoon & a short visit)
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (long weekend)
South Beach (Miami), Florida (long weekend)
New York City, New York (2 glorious long weekends)
Chicago, Illinois (1st anniversary long weekend)
Las Vegas, Nevada (week long vaca!)
Indianapolis, Indiana (long weekend)
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (long weekend)
As you can see from the list above, we stick to what we know best...Myrtle Beach! However, this year we are looking for something different. The criteria for this vacation is simple really!
We don't want to go to Florida
Not terribly keen on leaving the US
It must be a nice place to visit in the Fall
Suggestions?
Please & Thank you! :)
Do you have any day trips, long weekends, or full blown vacations planned?
If so, where to?
Are you going with friends, family, combo of both?
Do you take any vacations without your kids?
My little beach bum :) Myrtle Beach 2012
Until next time...
