Friday Favorites Week #22

Friday, May 29, 2020

Friday! Friday! Friday!
It's that time to link up with Andrea & Erika for Friday Favorites!

X had his last class zoom call on Friday afternoon and then he was officially done with 2nd grade!

His sweet teacher surprised all the kiddos in that call by saying she was stopping by their houses when the call was over to drop off some end of the year goodies :)

While we enjoyed some ribs at my in-laws house Saturday night, X attended an online birthday party.

But before it started, the birthday boy stopped by all the houses with a supply drop (just like in Fortnite) for the attendees.
X absolutely loved it!

Sunday we headed north for the first time in about 10 weeks of staying at home.

It FELT SO GOOD!!!
I saw my mom for just a brief moment to drop something off and give her a hug,
and then we were onto to my dad's house.
It was SO HOT, but SO GOOD for the soul!

With no school this week I have been working on clearing out my closet when I didn't have things to do for the office.

I shared this on Instagram, but I figured I would share it here too.
What is something you have in your closet that you own a lot of?
Shoes, handbags, tee shirts, leggings?
I have a lot of jeans.
Actually, I have a lot of everything now that I am going through my closet. lol!
The picture below has 41 pairs of jeans...and that isn't all of the ones I own!
I didn't realize this was such a big deal until I shared it in my stories the other day.

1. I like to have options. A LOT OF OPTIONS. As a female my body changes daily/weekly and I want to feel comfortable in whatever I am wearing.

2. I prefer jeans over leggings. I have said that before, so this isn't new information. When I get home from work I change into jeans until it is time to go to bed or workout.

I could go on and on but you get the point.

I like jeans. I have a lot of them. I am not ashamed of that.

I did purge about 10-12 pairs this go round ;)

In other news....

On the blog this week I shared all the feels for the month of May.

I got you all caught up with the goings on in our life in my What's Up Wednesday post.

And I shared one of my favorite summer casual outfits in my Style My Way post.

And that is it for the last week of May!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Thanks as always for stopping by!

Thursday - Cheeseburger Macaroni
The Weekend - Take Out!

What I'm reminiscing about...

Baseball season last year.

It is hard to believe it was cancelled for this summer, but I totally agree with the choice that the league made this year.

What I'm loving...

All these home accounts on Instagram I'm currently following!

Have you checked them out yet?
Their homes are gorgeous!

What we've been up to...

Making yummy treats!
These Snickerdoodle Blondie Bars have been a huge hit!

We have been enjoying all the progress going on at our house!

Celebrating X's teacher and her family with a fun class baby shower!

We just finished up home schooling last week, which means school is officially out for the summer!

And I have a 3rd grader now! What?!?!

After attending a virtual birthday party for one of his friends this weekend, I think X may want any party he has in the future to be the same! lol!

And we finally got out of the house (and our town) for a little bit on Sunday for a cookout at my dad's house.
We have been doing pretty darn good at keeping our distance for the last 8-10 weeks, but finally getting to have a sense of normalcy felt SO GOOD!

What I'm dreading...

Nothing at the moment :)

What I'm working on...

My tan! lol!
I brought my computer outside with me so I could take advantage of the sun being out.
Unfortunately, I couldn't see my computer screen since the sun was so bright.
I tried to just sit for about 30-45 minutes, but then my mind starts going about what other things I need to get done :/
I'm also using my favorite sunless tanner to help me get that glow that I crave :)

Medium Self Tanning Drops | Isle of Paradise

What I'm excited about...

Vacation!
While we don't go until July, my mind is focused on all things sun, sand and surf!
Of all years we are going somewhere new and I'm a little nervous.
So give me all the recs for going to the Outer Banks please!
We are staying in the Rodanthe/Waves area.

Rodanthe NC Rentals | Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

I am hoping things will have calmed down a bit by the time we go and more restaurants and such will be open for us to enjoy.

What I'm watching/reading...

This was a good TV month!
Mic and I finished watching Grimm earlier this month...loved it!

Grimm (TV Series 2011–2017) - IMDb

I just binge watched Sweet Magnolias this weekend and it was SO GOOD!!

Netflix's Sweet Magnolias season 2: Cast and EPs tease possible ...

I have tried to get into the Outer Banks, but it is such a struggle :(

Outer Banks | Netflix Official Site

Mic just watched Carnival Row and he really liked it :)

Carnival Row Season 1 - Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube

And right before I started typing this post we finally found another show to watch.
We are giving Mr. Robot a shot.

Mr. Robot (TV Series 2015–2019) - IMDb

Have you watched it?

And now that school is out I am hoping I can finally catch up on some blog reading :)

What I'm listening to...

X play Fortnite :/
A few newer songs,

but for the most part I am throwing it back to all my favorites from last summer.

What I'm wearing...

All the sandals!
Now that the rain has stopped and the temps are feeling like summer, it is sandal season for me!
I recently picked up these Birk dupes from Amazon and they are so good!

Amazon.com | CUSHIONAIRE Women's Lane Cork Footbed Sandal with + ...

X and I have been wearing our Covid-19 commemorative tie dye tees we made together :)

And I found some cute Amazon & Old Navy pieces that will be perfect for the summer!

Aleumdr Women's Lace Crochet V Neck 3/4 Sleeve Button Down Blouses ...

Printed Luxe High-Neck Tank Top for Women

Head here to check out my Style My Way post today!

What I'm doing this weekend...

With baseball and soccer seasons cancelled for X this year, we have 0 plans!
For the first time in my life I am actually enjoying having no plans.
I know it will all change sooner than later, so I am soaking it up while I can!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

The only thing on the agenda for the month of June is celebrating my niece turn 4 years old!

What else is new...

In the final zoom call for X's class his teacher put together a PowerPoint with all the positive characteristics that the kids said about each other.
I typically don't brag on my child, because that isn't the type of person I am.
But I couldn't help smiling from ear to ear when I read the words X's classmates said about him.

And that is it for the month of May!
Hope you all have a great day!

The Feels | May 2020

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Hey Hey!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
We are diving into the May edition of The Feels today!

Link up your blog post below, answer the questions in the comments, or share on Instagram and tag me @xtremelyv.

Favorite Meal?
Honestly, we have been eating a lot of the same things around here due to what is available at the grocery store these days.
So I think our take out order from Outback for Mother's Day would have to be my favorite meal of the month.
Pretty much anytime I get a steak and a baked potato I'm a happy girl :)

Favorite Movie/TV Show/Book?
I didn't watch any movies or read any books this month, but I did finish two shows that I loved.
Mic and I finished all 6 seasons of Grimm and now I'm going through withdrawal not having it to watch.
I did just binge watch Sweet Magnolias over the last few days and I absolutely loved it!
Hoping they come out with a second season!

Favorite Activity?
Making some fun tie dye tees with X to commemorate our time at home together.
It was great that it doubled as Art class that week as well :)

Favorite Moment?
X setting a goal of reading 2 chapter books in a week and crushing it!
He actually finished them in just 4 days!
So proud of him that he kept wanting to learn through all this craziness!

Goal for June?
Focus on making good food choices.
While I am have been doing great working out every single day since early March, I haven't always ate like I should :/
I need to get my carbs and proteins in check so I see those wonderful results I saw last year.
Want to get back on track?

Anything else that made May feel good?
We finally were able to see some friends/classmates in person!
While the weekly zoom calls have been nice, getting to see most of X's classmates at the drive by baby shower for his teacher felt so good!
We actually all just stood around outside on the sidewalk and talked.
Watching X smile and laugh with his friends again made my heart so happy :)

Now it is your turn!
I'll see you back here tomorrow for What's Up Wednesday!

Friday Favorites Week #21

Friday, May 22, 2020

Happy Friday!
Linking up with Andrea & Erika for Friday Favorites!

Oh, this week has been all over the place!
But we made it to Friday, it's a long holiday weekend, and school is out for the summer!
Can I get an AMEN!!!

We kicked off last Friday with a C130 flyover in our area to Salute Ohio.
X loved it!

Saturday was so nice outside!
We once again had lunch over at the house, and then I ran a couple much needed errands.

Sunday evening most of my mom's side of the family jumped on a zoom call to celebrate one of my cousin's graduating college (in 3 years) recently.
It was hilarious considering a few of them have never done it before ;)

I enjoyed a great live webinar through BlogHer this week!

We attended a drive-by (turned into hang out in the front yard) baby shower for X's teacher ;)
It felt so good to see people we actually know face to face.
And X was beaming getting to see his friends and talk with them :)

Some of the kiddos had already left, but it was such a great turn out!

Yesterday X officially finished 2nd grade!

This year sure has been an interesting one, but we made it through.
We are both looking forward to a much less stressful summer ahead :)
What does that mean?
X probably playing lots of Fortnite, while I'm still working from home...just no homeschooling.

On the blog this week...

I shared some last minute festive attire from Old Navy (not sponsored), that I'm sure you could still order and pick up from your local store.

Printed Luxe High-Neck Tank Top for Women

And in my Let's Stay Home series I shared some of my favorite home accounts on Instagram right now.
The Broadmoor House (and some Insta friends) does a #Building101 series that is awesome!
You must check it out if you are thinking of or starting the process of building.
So many helpful tips!

And that is it for this week!
X has his last zoom call today, followed by a surprise visit from one of the best teachers (since X doesn't read this blog I can share that surprise)!
X has a virtual birthday party to attend on Saturday evening (think zoom call, pizza & cupcakes, and lots of Fortnite 😜).
On my agenda this weekend...cleaning out my closets!
I had planned to do that in April, but between homeschooling and work I just wasn't feeling it.

Who else is spring cleaning?

Wishing you all a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!
Join me back here on TUESDAY for the May edition of The Feels!

Thanks as always for stopping by!
