Weekly Favorites X2

Friday, November 30, 2018

Since I skipped last week, I have a few extra Favorites for you today :)

I kicked off my long holiday weekend in my pj's watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
I never get to watch it, so this was a special treat!
Ohio State's marching band was in the parade for the first time ever...and they were the band who kicked things off!
So cool!

There were some so-so moments, but I did enjoy the Grinch balloon :)

Thanksgiving was all kinds of crazy this year.
We had plans, and then didn't.
So we made reservations for dinner just the three of us.
But my little guy requested a Pumpkin I whipped one up when the parade was over :)

After a fairly lazy day, we headed to Columbus for dinner at Mimi's Cafe.

We blinked and the long weekend was over :(
And that meant it was time to get back to school, work, and basketball!
X had his first game on Tuesday night and we were all so excited for it!

Despite the close loss, X played really well.
Shockingly he wasn't bummed about the loss.
He was more upset that he didn't score a basket :/
Thankfully, he had a great time and is super pumped for his next practice and game!

This was a big blog week!
Monday featured a few Christmas ideas that are great for the whole family, or that hard to buy for relative/friend :)

Wednesday I shared all the things from the last month and what's to come in my What's Up November post.

And I was sharing some amazing holiday pieces on The Blended Blog as well!

And I finally got my act together and shared a recap of my annual Favorite Things Party on Thursday!

Mail these last couple weeks has been SO GOOD!!!
My personalized shampoo and conditioner from Formulate came and I couldn't wait to get started!
You can hear more about my experience on my Instagram Highlights :)

I finally ordered my #4ThingsTote and it arrived as well!
I am trying really hard to save it for under the Christmas tree, but I think I need to just say it's an early birthday gift ;)

I shared before how my mom started receiving the FabFitFun box and she shares some of the goods with me :)
This is what she gave me from her winter box.

 Way of Will Brightening Serum

Mark & Graham Blanket

While party prepping for this weekend I stopped by Sam's Club and couldn't help but bring this long sleeve Santa tee (under $12) home with me!

One more thing before you go...check out all the wonderful things headed your way from The Blended Blog!

Snag the graphics from above and share you answers, looks, etc on your blog, Instagram or Facebook!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I am looking forward to celebrating my little guy turning 7 with family and friends,
watching Ohio State win the Big 10 Championship game on Saturday night,
and cheering on my Cleveland Browns to victory again on Sunday!

What are you up to this weekend?

2018 Favorite Things Party

Thursday, November 29, 2018

Earlier this month I hosted my annual Favorite Things Party with some friends.
If you are new around here, I have hosted a scarf exchange for quite a few years now.
But last year I decided to change it up and make it a Favorite Things Party!
You can check out last year's party here that featured our favorite beauty items.

This year the theme was Wearable Accessories.

Honestly, I knew the second that I said accessories what item I was sharing :)

Unfortunately, I didn't snap a picture before I packaged up the goods in these super cute tins from Hobby Lobby.
I scored them for $1 a piece!

Inside those tins were these super soft and lightweight camo earrings from Baubles by B.

I actually found them on her Etsy shop originally, but found ordering from her actual site just as easy :)
I ordered the 2 inch size to gift since it is a great size for everyone :)

We all gathered at 1285 Winery located at The Blueberry Patch.
I was able to reserve the upstairs space at no additional charge.
It was perfect!

We ordered some drinks and food, and got the exchange underway.
They make this Apple Cider Wine that is SO GOOD!
But my favorite part is that they rim the glass with brown sugar.

There were a variety of bags, but of course you know the camo and buffalo plaid were right up my alley ;)

If you have been to a party like this before, go ahead and skip ahead to the pictures.
If you haven't attended a party like this before, let me explain how we did things this year.

I had a bag with all of the attendees names (5X) in it for us to draw from.
I didn't want anyone to draw their own name, so I switched things up a bit this year and we all drew 5 names each before exchanging.
(Then you know no one is left with their own gift)
Instead of gifting those 5 people with your gift, we decided that you would receive the gifts from those 5 people you drew.

Once those 5 gifts were passed out, those 5 people opened them at the same time.
I really think things went great this year!
And we had such a variety of items!
Here are some of the goodies we brought home with us...

By the way the items were displayed in those photos above, pretty sure my friends know they were being featured on the blog ;)

Here are the items I brought home...

A lot of the items we exchanged were from local boutiques,
but I did find some similar pieces to link for you.

CC Beanie - Leg Warmers - Feather Earrings - Camo Earrings
Pom & Beanie - Cross Bracelets - Crystal Bracelets - Finishing Spray
Christmas Decor - Cardigan - Dry Shampoo - Hair Tie
Face Mask - Wine Glass - Socks - Scarf

After exchanging all those wonderful items,
we ate, laughed, and just had a good time hanging out with each other :)

And we may have had some dessert too! ;)

I absolutely love hosting this party every year, but more importantly I love getting to spend time with these amazing ladies :)

Do you host or participate in a favorite things party or scarf party?
If so, what type of items do you exchange?
What do you think our theme should be for next year?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

What I'm reminiscing about...
How 7 years ago I was in my last week of pregnancy with X!
It was my last week before truly becoming a mom.
It was my last week of going to the bathroom by myself too! 🤣🤣
I'll give up the privacy any day of the week for this cutie!

What I'm loving...
All the great deals I got this past weekend online!

What we've been up to...
Birthday parties with friends

As good as it gets with that many boys full of energy ;)

Hosting my annual Favorite Things Party!
Full recap coming tomorrow!

Celebrating Thanksgiving with my Aunt who is a nursing home a few days early,

And then celebrating on the big day with my two guys 💖

Watching X get ready for basketball season!

What I'm dreading...
I have a love/hate relationship for the holidays.
I really do love all the hustle & bustle,
the music,
buying Christmas presents, etc.
What I don't like/dread is the stress from figuring out where we are going to be when and such :(
Side note: I love the movie Four Christmases, but I don't like how similar my life is :/
Speaking of Four Christmases, how can you not love this scene...

What I'm working on...
Finishing up my Christmas shopping!
I have a few more items to pick up/order and I will be done!!

What I'm excited about...
My hair appointment next week!
My hair needs some serious love!

What I'm watching/reading...
Manifest, This Is Us, lots and lots of college and NFL football!
The Thanksgiving Day parade!
I loved getting to see The Best D@mn Band In The Land kick off the parade!

And of course my favorite balloon...

Honestly, I never get to see getting to watch the entire parade this year was kind of nice :)

What I'm listening to...
All the Christmas music!!!

What I'm wearing...
Lots of sweater and boot combos for work and out with friends and family.

And lots of graphic tees when hanging out at home watching football, or doing a little holiday shopping :)

I haven't worn this one yet, but it is ready to go for this weekend because.....

What I'm doing this weekend...
Celebrating my little guy's 7th birthday with a football themed party!

And then watching the Ohio State Buckeyes play in the Big 10 Championship game on Saturday night!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
So many things!
X's birthday,
my 40th birthday,
New Year's!
It's going to be a great month!

What else is new...
I shared some Christmas present ideas that are great for the whole family or even that hard to shop for relative on Monday.
