The Vanessa Jacket

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

I am so excited about today's collaboration!
I "met" the lovely ladies who started Belong Lifestyle way back in 2014 during a style challenge we all took part in.
While I haven't met them in person...yet (2020 is our year), I know they are genuinely the nicest of people!
And they definitely have an eye for fashion!

When Lana contacted me (and a few other ladies) about doing a collaboration with them we couldn't say YES fast enough :)
We each were able to select a few pieces that we thought might be "us".
From there, those wonderful ladies narrowed it down to the final piece.
I honestly didn't know what the actual piece would be until right before my package arrived.

I am excited to have the suede-like bomber jacket named after me!
It is so soft, so stylish, and so ME!!!
Thank you Lana, Deena & Abbie for this amazing jacket!

Vanessa's Bang on Bomber

Now on with how I styled it!

For work I paired it with a black top and pants, and the jacket was easily the focal point of my outfit :)

For a afternoon of running errands I threw the jacket on with a fun graphic tee, some skinny jeans, my go-to combat boots, and sunglasses :)

You could easily style this jacket with a dress or leggings too.
It really is a go with anything type of jacket!

I think you would love adding The Vanessa Bomber to your wardrobe as well!
Belong Lifestyle is offering all my followers 10% off your order with code VANESSA.

But don't stop with just this jacket...
Lana, Deena & Abbie have done an amazing job hand picking new pieces, as well as some gorgeous consigned pieces to add to their shop.

One more thing before you go....
The shop is based in Canada which means all of us US residents get to take advantage of an amazing exchange rate!
Plus, they offer $5 flat rate shipping.
Which again is less for us US gals :)

So what are you waiting for?
Head over to Belong Lifestyle now to check out all the wonderful items they have to offer!

Thank you again to the amazing ladies at Belong Lifestyle for naming this gorgeous piece after me!

What I'm reminiscing about...
How 7 years ago I was in my last week of pregnancy with X!
It was my last week before truly becoming a mom.
It was my last week of going to the bathroom by myself too! 🤣🤣
I'll give up the privacy any day of the week for this cutie!

What I'm loving...
All the great deals I got this past weekend online!

What we've been up to...
Birthday parties with friends

As good as it gets with that many boys full of energy ;)

Hosting my annual Favorite Things Party!
Full recap coming tomorrow!

Celebrating Thanksgiving with my Aunt who is a nursing home a few days early,

And then celebrating on the big day with my two guys 💖

Watching X get ready for basketball season!

What I'm dreading...
I have a love/hate relationship for the holidays.
I really do love all the hustle & bustle,
the music,
buying Christmas presents, etc.
What I don't like/dread is the stress from figuring out where we are going to be when and such :(
Side note: I love the movie Four Christmases, but I don't like how similar my life is :/
Speaking of Four Christmases, how can you not love this scene...

What I'm working on...
Finishing up my Christmas shopping!
I have a few more items to pick up/order and I will be done!!
🙌🙌

What I'm excited about...
My hair appointment next week!
My hair needs some serious love!

What I'm watching/reading...
Manifest, This Is Us, lots and lots of college and NFL football!
The Thanksgiving Day parade!
I loved getting to see The Best D@mn Band In The Land kick off the parade!

And of course my favorite balloon...

Honestly, I never get to see it...so getting to watch the entire parade this year was kind of nice :)

What I'm listening to...
All the Christmas music!!!

What I'm wearing...
Lots of sweater and boot combos for work and out with friends and family.

And lots of graphic tees when hanging out at home watching football, or doing a little holiday shopping :)

I haven't worn this one yet, but it is ready to go for this weekend because.....

What I'm doing this weekend...
Celebrating my little guy's 7th birthday with a football themed party!

And then watching the Ohio State Buckeyes play in the Big 10 Championship game on Saturday night!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
So many things!
X's birthday,
my 40th birthday,
Christmas,
New Year's!
It's going to be a great month!

What else is new...
I shared some Christmas present ideas that are great for the whole family or even that hard to shop for relative on Monday.

Hurrah for Sweater Weather!

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Sweater weather is finally here!
They are my go-to for work, on the weekends, holiday get togethers, etc.
While I have come around to cardigans over the last couple of years, the pullover style typically wins every time for me :)

I ran into Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and immediately picked up this sweater.
It is lightweight, but still hangs really well.
And to my shock the horizontal stripes made me look slimmer!
Consider me sold! lol!

I loved it so much, that I grabbed it in the navy and white striped option as well.
This sweater is perfect for dressing up or down.
And it is available in four solids as well!

Continuing my love for stripes...

I picked up this sweater (actually called a top on the site) earlier this Fall in the striped and solid version (no longer available online).
It is SO soft!!!
It is definitely lightweight like a top, but sure feels like a sweater to me!
And just like the ones from Old Navy, this is long enough to wear with leggings if you choose :)

I grabbed this amazing sweater (no longer available online) this summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
I love it!
Again, perfect for work or home.
And long enough for leggings ;)

I couldn't completely leave out cardigans today.
They are pretty darn cozy!
This is my favorite go-to cardigan I grabbed last year at Old Navy.
Unfortunately, this plaid isn't available but this year's version is pretty close.

What are your favorite cozy sweaters to wear?
Are you a pullover or cardigan girl?
Do you buy sweaters that can be dressed up or down, or just casual?

Now go check out Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side and make sure you link up your Fashion Frenzy posts at The Blended Blog as well!

Stripes & Plaid | TBB Style Link Up

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

Today is all about Stripes & Plaid!
And I have 3 simple ways for you to mix them together.
And all are office approved ;)

#1
I paired a simple navy and white striped top with a red plaid scarf.
This option is for those of you that aren't quite sure about pattern mixing.

#2
I switched out my plaids and tied it around my waist.
This is perfect for those who want a bit more pattern mixing, but just can't commit to wearing the plaid top/flannel over the stripes.
I didn't have a plaid top to use, so I grabbed a blanket scarf and it creates the same look.

#3
Let's get wild and crazy!
Same top, but I added a plaid puffer vest.

The options are endless!
My biggest tip I can give you is to keep things in the same color family.
All the options I presented above have navy blue in them, but you could easily do the same thing with black or brown as your base color.
Have fun with it!

Now I want to see how you style stripes and plaid together!
Link up your post with us at The Blended Blog,
and make sure to check out how Shelly @ The Queen in Between styles hers!

Get out of those Leggings Girl!

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Do you dress up or down for Thanksgiving?
I do a mixture of both.
I tend to throw on jeans for any and all events that don't require me to wear dress pants or a dress.
But I try to dress up my look from there.

I shared these looks on here before, but I think they would be perfect for Thanksgiving!

A simple sweater (similar) paired with some cute booties, fun earrings, and the unexpected pop of white jeans (similar) is perfect for a low key family Thanksgiving.

Need more color?
This top (similar) screams fall!
Paired with a long cardigan, those white jeans (similar), and cute booties!
This outfit is sure to please the in-laws ;)

Denim can be worn in so many ways!
Throw your trusty denim jacket over a pretty, but simple button up top, the perfect colored jeans for Fall, and those cute booties.

There you have it!
Three simple and classic looks to get you out of your leggings on Thanksgiving day ;)

Now bring on the Turkey and sales ads!!!

Don't forget to link up your Fall Fashion Frenzy posts at The Blended Blog!
And make sure you show Alison some love at Puppies & Pretties as well!
