The Friday Faves #26

Friday, June 28, 2019

This week has been filled with good times with great friends,
lots of baseball games,
and sunshine!

On the blog this week, I finally recapped our amazing time at the Cleveland Browns Youth Football Camp!

And I linked up with Sheaffer & Shay for the June Edition of What's Up Wednesday!

Over the weekend I was able to spend some much needed quality time with these amazing friends!
We grabbed some dinner at Asterisk Supper Club, and then headed to the NKOTB Mix Tape Concert!

Due to being with teachers, this is the only drink shot I was able to take 😉

I was always a Joey girl when I was younger, but I am definitely on the Donnie train these days 😍

It was a great concert!
And the company was even better 😊

This week kicked off tournament baseball for X's team.
Our game on Monday night was a bit stressful, but we came away with the win just as the rain started really coming down.
We ended up playing a make up game on Wednesday night which helped the boys get some more practice in since we haven't played much due to all the rain we have had here.

Tonight is the night!
We play at 5:30 and then fingers crossed, we will play around 7:15 for the championship!
I so hope these boys can do it!
I have truly loved getting to help coach this group this year!

I am also hoping one of the parents will take some pictures of the games, since I am out on the field.
These are about the only ones I have of X playing this year from my parents.

Let's Go White!!!!
Let's Go #88!!!! ⚾

I finished up my work early yesterday and made my way outside as quickly as I could before the rain came down again.

I'm leaving you today with some of my favorite summer time songs 🌞

Happy weekend!

Linking up with Andrea, Narci & Erika!

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Wow! Did the last month go fast!
I feel like I just wrote my monthly post for May.
Linking up with Sheaffer & Shay for...

What We're Eating This Week...

Monday - Last minute out to eat with X and all the grandparents :)
Tuesday - Bunless Cheese Steaks
Wednesday - Chicken Fettuccine
Thursday - Steak Salads
Friday - Sunday - Out

What I'm Reminiscing About...

This time 5 years ago we were having a great time on vacation with some of our best friends!

And we just found out that these two besties will get to be in the same class this fall for the first time year!
They are so excited!

What I'm Loving...

Time with good friends!

These ladies just get me and don't make me feel bad for being me.
I just wish we all lived closer!
We had the best time together this past weekend at the NKOTB concert!

What We've Been Up To...

All the camps!
X attended basketball camp at our local high school,

and followed it up with Cleveland Browns football camp (full recap here),

and then had a blast at math camp at one of the local elementary schools :)
And this week is all about tournament baseball!
Let's GO White!

We get about a month off of camps and then he will be back at it with soccer and science camps.

We also celebrated birthdays with friends,

and I took in a Cleveland Indians game with my dad and got to see a win!

What I'm Dreading...

Our drive for vacation :(
Typically I love riding in the car just about anywhere, but X is not fun on long drives!
But I am just going to keep thinking about how I will be at the beach when the drive is complete ;)

What I'm Working On...

All the things!
From work to vacation!
But another fun thing I am working on is trying to finalize a fun girls trip to Canada!!! Eek!

What I'm Excited About...

Getting back into a normal routine now that baseball is winding down and X is done with all the camps for a little while :)
I feel like I have been an unpaid Uber driver for the last month!

What I'm Watching/Reading...

I decided to start the Blue Bloods series on Netflix.

I have watched a few episodes here and there over the years, so I decided to start from the beginning.
I also recorded The Hills: New Beginnings, but haven't watched it yet.
Am I wasting my time?

What I'm Listening To...

We have been listening to a lot of 80's hair bands.
I had X listen to a few of my favorites and now he wants to hear them all the time!
It is so much fun sharing the music I grew up with with him now :)

Now I'm working on a little ACDC and Guns n Roses :)

What I'm Wearing...

One day I'm wearing shorts and a tee, and the very next I am in jeans and jacket.
We have had the wackiest summer ever!
SO MUCH RAIN, low temps, and then really hot and humid days.
But no matter what clothes I have on, I have been wearing my new custom necklace from The Sis Kiss.

I gifted a similar one to my mom for Mother's Day with a boy and girl.
And I love that it has double meaning for her - my brother and I, or X and my niece Lily :)

And my JORD watch has been on repeat as well!

Isn't that reclaimed wood gorgeous?
You can score one for yourself by heading here to enter to win!

What I'm Doing This Weekend...

We were supposed to be heading out of town for a funeral late Friday, but now X has a tournament baseball game.
If they win they will play in the championship game that same night!
And then on Sunday we are celebrating my niece turning 3!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...

MLB All Star festivities in Cleveland, Ohio
Vacation
Baseball is officially over X
We are attending the Dude Perfect Tour
Cleveland Browns Football Camp is open to the public
Did I say vacation?

What Else Is New...

I feel like there is so much new, yet nothing :/
I did receive a box full of goodies from fabfitfun this month!

And that is it my friends!
What are you looking forward to in the month of July?

Future Cleveland Brown

Monday, June 24, 2019

A few months ago I saw some ads for different youth football camps.
From NFL players (Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry) to former Ohio State guys (now rookie - Dwayne Haskins Jr.).
I wanted to sign up X so badly for one of them.
Like his mother, he was a little apprehensive at first and said he didn't want to go.
But when the email came for a camp at the Cleveland Browns stadium I didn't even ask him. lol!
I just signed him up and said this is what you are doing in June!
At first he was nervous, but then couldn't wait for the day to arrive :)
Thankfully, my family lives up north so we decided to stay at my dad's house for the few days of camp.

The first day of camp we woke up earlier than I have in months years honestly.
X quickly got ready and ate breakfast and then we headed downtown Cleveland.
The first day we had to be there by 7:30 am to register, get his jersey, etc.

This was X's first time at the stadium for any event!
Nothing like starting at the absolute top. lol!
I sure have big shoes to fill for Browns games and such in the future!

And look who was there on his phone and checking out the kids each day....John Dorsey (General Manager for the Browns) 😁

Each day the kids did some warm ups before jumping into drills, flag football games and such.

On the second day each group got to tour the press box area.
They must have told the kids it is way up high, because you could see on X's face that he was worked up about something :(
Thankfully, he and another little boy didn't have to go up with the group.
They got to help out another coach down on the field until their group returned.
He loved it!

Here we are ready for the last day of camp.

Some of the next photos are ones that the Cleveland Browns sent out.
Unfortunately, X is in the back on this one :(

One of the best things about day 3 of camp was that the rookie class came to talk and work with the kids!

Sidenote: There were over 200 hundred kids at this camp, but it sure didn't feel that way!

I know I shared this one last week, but I had to share it again!
Eek!
They took SO MANY pictures of all the kids out there and X made one of the final photos!

I shared that photo on Instagram and Jamie Gillan responded to me.
He is such a nice guy!
We are definitely cheering him on to make the team so we can root for him this fall!

It was kind of crazy at pick up, but I had to snag a quick pic with X and his coaches for the week.

I could have shared a million photos and videos, but nobody has time for that!
All in all X (and my dad and I) had an amazing experience at the Cleveland Browns football camp.
X learned so much and is already asking to go back next year!

We all can't wait for him to begin his first season of flag football this fall, and to cheer on our Cleveland Browns!!!

A couple things to note about the camp:

There were 2 sessions offered (one at the stadium and one at the training facility the week after)

It was $130 per participant

It was a 3 day camp going from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm each day

A light lunch was provided from Arby's (although my kid didn't eat it 🙄)

Each day we received an email recapping what the kids worked on and what was to come for the next day.

At the end we received an email with 60+ photos from the final day of camp.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this camp.
The only negative I have and it really isn't a negative at all, but I wish we would have been told where the coaches were from.
All the coaches were volunteers from local area schools.
I think it would be so fun to take X to a game and see those coaches in action!

I also want to say this was not a sponsored post in anyway, but that would be awesome in the future ;)

Thanks as always for stopping by today!
Let me know if you have any questions about the camp, or if your kiddos have attended any football, baseball, etc. camps in your area!
