Linking up with Andrea @ Momfessionals today for Show and Tell.
Christmas Decor is hands down my favorite!
Probably because that is the only decor I have.
The other 10-11 month of the year everything is very plain.
Christmas just brings our house to life!
Of course this year being in a new place brings its challenges and fun in deciding where to put things.
Reminder
We left our home of 9 years (in a neighborhood) that we updated quite a bit for a 40 year old home in the country with 0 updates.
Keep that in mind.
Definitely more challenges in decorating this year!
We have 4 Christmas trees.
Well, 6 if you include the two small ones that we don't decorate.
One of the challenges we faced right out of the gate was where would we put them.
While the house we moved to seems bigger than our old house, there are less rooms and less living space.
You will see in a moment.
My in-laws always had a very tall tree in the corner of the room.
And that was it.
Our old house has super short ceilings, allowing for a tree no more than 6 1/2 feet if you wanted a topper of any kind on it.
Fingers crossed I will pick up a big tree on one of those after Christmas sales to put away for next year.
Another thing you may or may not know about me is that I collect Santa's.
Big, small, cloth, ceramic, you name it.
I love them!
Must be that December baby thing ;)
Years ago that is all I would ask for for my birthday or Christmas.
I ended up with a lot!
So I kind of stopped the collecting for a bit.
It is unfortunate to collect something you aren't able to display all year long :(
With our main tree in the family room, I needed a good spot for our Smore's tree.
Again, the challenge arose because our living room is combined with our dining space so there isn't much room for a big tree.
We opted for one of the smaller ones in there and just added snowflake ornaments.
The other small tree seemed to fit perfectly in the foyer next to the front door.
We propped it up on a small table, added some extra ornaments, and it was done.
Still no idea where to put that Smore's tree.
Or my two small burlap trees.
Finally, I decided to put the Smore's tree in the kitchen.
So technically we have our two biggest trees in the same space/room.
But it seems to work out.
The other small trees we put up in our bedroom (for now).
I was really hoping to pick up some new stockings this year, but I can't seem to find any burlap ones I like :(
Any suggestions?
Diamond's stocking :)
The penguin one is from X's first birthday party.
We gave one to each family at his party.
My mom gives X (and sometimes me) a Hallmark ornament every year :)
This the very first ornament I picked up for Mic and I way back in 2001!
If you haven't been a reader for very long than you don't know this year has been crazy with moving, selling our house, our co-workers retiring, etc.
We are really looking forward to a (fingers crossed) calmer year in 2016.

Happy Tuesday!
Oh my word you have so many cute decorations! I'm with you. We don't decorate much throughout the year except Christmas! Hehe! I'm OBSESSED with the s'more ornaments and the "tailgating" one might be my favorite ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you have multiple trees! We have our big one and a smaller one upstairs and I could go for even more! ;) hehe
ReplyDeleteWow you really do a gorgeous job! Beautiful trees and I just love the Santa collection :)
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of your s'mores tree!!! Where did you find those ornaments?! So cute! I bet you could make burlap stockings if you sew, or even just glueing could work (I don't sew so theres that.) The train track in your living room is a great touch.
ReplyDeleteVery cute decor and I love the idea of the stocking above the furbabies bowl! I think I will do that same thing! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for massive amounts of Christmas trees! My favorite :) I didn't know you collected Santa's, keeping that one in the memory bank. My aunt and uncle collect them too, they spend all of November setting them all up, I think they are least at 300!
ReplyDeleteholy Christmas trees!! they're all so lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the santa collection!
Beautiful home!
