Play by Sephora | February 2018

Happy Tuesday!
Before I get into my post for the day I have to wish the most amazing, beautiful, kind hearted woman in the world a Very Happy Birthday!
I truly hope you have the best day and year Mom!
I love you! ❤️❤️❤️

I received another Play by Sephora box last week and I couldn't wait to show you all the goodies inside!

Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil in Cote D'azur $23
A long-lasting, richly pigmented eyeliner that glides on smoothly and is easy to use.

Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel in 04 Perfect Nude $12
A light-reflecting lip gloss in a nude shade for standout lips that look plump and shiny.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in M500 $22
A high-pigment lipstick known for its legendary staying power in a striking deep wine shade for the ultimate impact.

First Aid Beauty Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask $32
A revitalizing jelly mask that's packed with ginger and turmeric to comfort and brighten stressed-out skin.

Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel $48
An exfoliating gel powered by multiple fruit enzymes to reveal a glowy complexion.

BONUS: Tory Burch Love Relentlessly $30-$118
A sparkling fragrance of pink pepper, patchouli, and dewy rose that captures the first butterflies of love.

And here are the eyeliner, lipstick and gloss colors...

My First Thoughts
The eyeliner pencil is super easy to use.
It is a very vibrant shade of blue though, so not sure where I would wear it.
Biggest downside: I lightly marked my hand with it to see the actual color and the tip completely broke off :(

The Sephora lip gloss in nude is right up my alley!
I have worn it once already and it is the perfect neutral!

The rouge lipstick seems to be very good quality, but extremely dark for me :(
When I opened it I immediately thought of Sarah though :)

I haven't tried the peeling mask or the gel wash, but I will be adding them to my skincare routine later this week to tryout.

And finally the Tory Burch scent is probably fine for most.
Honestly, I didn't even smell it yet!
I just don't wear perfume, so it will go into my stash of giveaway items :)

Do you receive a Play by Sephora subscription?
If so, did you receive the same items?
What do you think of them?

Have any of you tried any of these products before?

Linking up with Erika, Narci & Andrea for...

My favorite basketball player did so good in his second game on Friday night!

He scored two baskets, blocked a shot, and came away with the gold star for sportsmanship :)

One of my favorite days of the year fell on Sunday...Super Bowl Sunday!
Unfortunately, the Patriots lost but overall it was a really good game!
And that halftime show?
Oh my goodness it was great!
Can't wait to see JT in May!!!

When I saw this I couldn't help but laugh!
Since I only have one child he fits into all three categories ;)

I linked up with The Blended Blog on Monday for their monthly Ask Series.
This month was all about Love :)
Example...these chocolate covered strawberries!
Insert all the heart eye emojis here.

Happy mail is always a favorite!
I posted a video on Tuesday of what I received in my January Play by Sephora box :)

Beyblades are X's favorite thing these days!
We "battle" every day after school and that is all he wants to do at after care with his friends.
Are your kids into Beyblade Burst?

Isn't that what these boards are supposed to be used for?!?! ;)

Another thing that we have been doing this week is getting X's Valentine box ready for his school party.
Football is still his absolute favorite thing, so it was no surprise that he decided to give Football valentines and make a Football field box!

And here are his finished valentines :)
Thanks for the printable Andrea!

Yesterday I shared some of my favorite beauty products and tools that I have been using/can't live without.

This was another favorite from Instagram this week...

And on that note I am calling it a week!
Fingers crossed there is no delay for school this morning so X's school Valentine party will take place :)
We have another Friday night of basketball,
followed by a birthday party on Saturday morning at a new trampoline park,
and a going away party for a sweet little boy on Saturday afternoon!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Play by Sephora

Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Hey, Hey Friends!
What better way to start the new year than with some fun new beauty products to try out?
I received my first Play by Sephora box in late December and I am excited to share what items I got :)

I tried to film an unboxing video for you, but due to still being sick it didn't go well.
Maybe for the January box ;)

So here is what I received...

A high pigment eyeshadow palette featuring warm, bronzy shades.
Full Size Palette $29
I wear bronzy eye shadows all the time, so these fit perfectly into my collection!

A lightweight, high-pigment lip gloss in a dusty rose shade with a high-shine finish.
Full Size $16
If you know me, you know that I tend to stick to Chapstick unless it is a special occasion.
This lip gloss is perfect for me though since it is a really soft shade.

This airy spray revives lifeless strands, adds volume and body to your style, and extends your blowout.
Full Size $26 Mini $13
This mini is the perfect travel size!
I haven't tried it yet though, so I will report back soon :)
UPDATE: I tried this this morning and it smells amazing! Seems to work well too!
A creamy eyelid primer that covers imperfections, keeps shadow crease-free, and helps makeup last.
Full Size $28

I don't use an eyeshadow primer on a daily basis, but I definitely do for nights out!
I just ran out of my Urban Decay primer, so I am looking forward to trying this one out.

A luxurious all-over face cream that firms, smooths, and illuminates skin.
Full Size $42
I wish I realized that I received this before NYE!
Ugh! Love it!

A sultry, glamorous fragrance that blends the notes of black orchid, incense, and sandalwood.
1oz. Bottle $84 Mini Touch Point $45
Unfortunately, I am not a perfume type of girl :(
And due to being sick I can't really smell this.
I'll get back to you once I can breathe normally again ;)
  • UPDATE: It doesn't smell bad, but it is WAY too strong for me!

Do you receive Play by Sephora boxes?
I would love to hear your thoughts!

So here are the details for those of you who haven't heard of it or tried it yet....

Boxes are $10/month with free shipping :)

Each monthly box includes:

-Five deluxe makeup, skincare and hair care samples (plus a beauty bonus!)
-A collectible makeup bag
-Access to exclusive video how-tos and tutorials about how to use the products in your box
-PLAY! BOOK with tips, tricks, and how-tos about each sample
-PLAY! PASS to redeem in store for 50 bonus Beauty Insider points with a full-size purchase
-PLAY! DATE, a subscriber-only event that gives you and a friend the opportunity to come in store and play with products and meet with our beauty experts

I know this is only my first Play by Sephora box, but I can say I already like it better than any of the Birchbox or Ipsy bags I received in the past.
Why?
I can easily hop online and order the products or walk into my local Sephora and pick them up!
Also, based on the profile I filled out (fingers crossed) I won't be falling in love with a high-end product that I would never be able to afford!
