My Wedding - Extras!

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Final post of the My Wedding series is here!
I am sure you are all thinking THANK GOD at this point.
I appreciate you all sticking with me as I relive those memories leading up to our
7 year anniversary :)

Make sure to check out the rest of the My Wedding series here.

Today is all about the extra photos and a few tidbits from our honeymoon :)

The extra photos are those taken in between the ceremony and reception :)
All of these were taken at Lakeview Park.
It was the park I grew up visiting for Easter,
and the beach I went to from a child through
my high school years.
Not to mention I grew up less than a mile from the lake.
It was only fitting that I had some wedding photos taken there.
Lake Erie in general is a big part of who I am :)

One of my absolute favorite photos with all the guys!

We spent an amazing week honeymooning in our future retirement home
Savannah, Georgia!
If you haven't been there before, you MUST go!
The squares are gorgeous and so inviting.
The Spanish moss trees are heavenly.

My absolute favorite restaurant is located there....Molly MacPherson's Scottish Pub!
The historic town is situated on the beautiful Savannah River.
It seriously is one of the most haunted places in the US!

NO FILTER!!!!!

This no big deal southern lady has a restaurant there...Paula Deen's :)
Oh, and you can walk around outside with your cocktails and such on River Street!!!

I want to head there right now after typing those few things about Savannah!

I would love to hear your stories from your wedding day and honeymoon!
What time of year did you get married?
Indoor or outdoor ceremony?
Did you travel anywhere for your honeymoon?

Thanks again for following along while I relive my big day :)

My Wedding - The Reception

Saturday, September 28, 2013

It's Party Time!!!
Our Fall theme carried over into the reception.
Our tables were decorated with vases full of tree branches with leaves dangling from them,
leaves scattered on the tables with mason jar candles - apple scented,
and caramel apples as favors.

We carried the car theme over to the reception as well.
All of our guest tables were named after car companies.

Guests found their names on actual car key tags from the dealership.
It had their name listed as well as a vehicle model from the company table name
they were sitting at.
Just an added touch that played a big roll in our lives.
In lieu of a guest book,
we had colorful leaves set out for our guests to write their well wishes,
marriage advice, etc. to us :)

After walking into our reception as Mr. & Mrs to ACDC's "Thunderstruck",
we shared our 1st dance to
"I believe in you" by Joe & nsync.
We had planned to share dances with our wedding party to a few of their wedding songs,
but some how danced to them all by ourselves :(
Alison Krauss' "When you say nothing at all" and
Savage Garden's "Truly Madly Deeply".

Our cake table :)

And what was on the inside?
Chocolate and white cake of course!
I don't like filling, so we just had more of my favorite...frosting :) YUM!!!
Def Leppard's "Pour some sugar on me" played as we cut our cake.

For the Mother/Son dance Mic and his mom danced to
Josh Groban's "You raise me up".

My dad and I picked a song that we had a history with for the
Father/Daughter dance :)

I seriously never left the dance floor the entire night!
I had a great time getting down with our friends and family :)
No wedding is complete (IMO) without line dances like seen above!
This was while we were doing the "Booty Call" :)

We ended our night dancing to "Georgia on my mind" by Ray Charles
since we were headed to Savannah, Georgia for our honeymoon :)

It was truly a great evening filled with dancing, drinking ;),
catching up with old friends, and lots of laughs.
I really didn't want the night to end...it went way too quick!

Even though the most important day of my life at that point was over,
it was only the beginning of my life as Mic's wife :)
He was/is mine forever!

My Wedding - The Ceremony

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

It's time to become Mic's wife!!!
The church was decorated, everything was in place,
and the guests were seated.

My mom made all of our programs, key tags, favor bags, etc.
She is AMAZING!!!

Since Mic and I met working at a car dealership together,
cars played a big part on our wedding day.
Instead of throwing rice or blowing bubbles,
we had key tags with our names and date attached to a couple of blank
car keys to jingle as we walked out of the church.

Again, the ONLY photo of me coming down the aisle with my dad :(
Still kind of amazed the photographer got this shot
since he missed 2 out of 5 bridesmaids :(

This might be one of my favorite shots of the day.

I couldn't stop smiling and giggling the whole time! :)

Our adorable little flower girl :)
She was so cute facing the guests during the whole ceremony.

The unity candle was lit!
In the home stretch now :)

Our minister saying the final prayer.

You may kiss the bride!!!!

The new Mr. & Mrs. :)

One of only a few photos I have as an adult with my parents.

Mic with his mom and dad.

Notice the photographer was really good...took this shot in the back room of the church!
We don't even have a formal picture of Mic and his parents on our wedding day....
and none with each of the groomsman!!!
Sorry for the added venting.
Pictures from your wedding day should make you think of happy times
in my opinion.

Our ceremony was only about 30 minutes long.
The minister read a couple of scriptures we had picked out,
we recited the traditional vows,
and exchanged rings.
It was a super simple ceremony.
Again, just the way I like it :)

How did you meet your spouse?
Did your big day go as planned?
Which parent do you think I look like?

Only a few short weeks and posts to go until our anniversary!
See parts One, Two, Three andFour here.

My Wedding - Getting Ready

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The big day was here!
No more planning, prepping, making phone calls, etc.
Everything was done and it was time to enjoy it!
before you continue :)
My mom, bridesmaids, flower girl and I started off the day with breakfast at Bob Evans.
We all had a very long day ahead of us and need to fuel up!
After we filled up,
we all headed back to the Holiday Inn to get ready :)

Side note: I have had those shoes for years prior to the big day! Super easy to get around in
and helped with the height difference (1 foot) between Mic and I :)
I had no problem wearing "old" shoes on my wedding day.

My childhood beautician and her daughter did our hair
while we each did our own makeup.
Things were fun, calm, simple.
Exactly the way I like it!

Who doesn't talk on their cell phone while getting ready on their wedding day?
And yes, it was cool then to get your pregame outfit embroidered with your new name and date!
Remember this was 2006 people! :)

The girls helped with the finishing touches of my dress
before heading over to the church in our limo :)

Meanwhile, Mic and the guys took a VERY relaxed approach to getting ready for the day.
They even enjoyed Mic's favorite cocktail of Hennessy & Pepsi before
they made their way to the church.

The guys surprised Mic with this very generous gift while getting ready :)

Our photographer took quite a few photos of each of us with our family and friends
before the ceremony began.

The church was filling up and it was almost time to take the big walk down the aisle
with my dad.
Not before my dad and I had one last shot together though ;)
Tucked away in his tux was a little bottle of Bacardi Rum for him
and a little bottle of Vodka for me!
I wasn't nervous at all,
but taking that shot with my dad made for a great memory.
Within minutes after....we were being escorted to the front doors of the church :)

It's ceremony time!
Sneak peek photo :)

And remember how I said I wasn't too pleased with my photographer the
day of the wedding?
How is this for you...
That photo of my dad and I walking down the aisle is the ONLY photo of me coming
down the aisle!!!!!
Are you serious???

Check back soon for the next installment of My Wedding Series :)
