My 1st Girls Weekend Getaway

Thursday, June 28, 2018

If you have been a reader for a while, or know me in person, you know that I am a tomboy.
So it shouldn't come as a big surprise when I say that this past weekend was my very first girls only trip.
Kinda crazy right?
I mean, I am almost 40!!!

The only other time I went anywhere overnight with a group of girls was for cheerleading camp in high school.

So when Haley asked me to come along on her 40th birthday trip to Myrtle Beach I was super excited and nervous!
But I am happy to report I had a wonderful time and can't wait to plan another girls only trip!

Now get ready for a picture overload from our weekend :)

The four of us northern and central Ohio girls road tripped together.

I ordered these cups from William and Noelle on Etsy and they turned out perfect!
Everyone absolutely loved them and they were perfect for the beach and the pool!

Haley's MIL made these super cute flip flop sugar cookies for us all,
so we had to send her a picture of us enjoying them!

We stayed at the North Beach Plantation resort.
Despite having a few issues (due to the owner, not the resort), our condo turned out perfect!
I mean, how can you complain about an ocean view???

Our room wasn't quite ready, so we grabbed our bands and headed down to the pools while we waited.

After a few hours in the sun, we cleaned up and headed out to dinner at Nacho Hippo.
But first....we had to take a few pictures of our group! lol!

Love this girl :)

I was never in a sorority, but I sure felt like it this weekend! lol!

Haley LOVES those hot and fresh donuts from Krispy Kreme, so a few of us made a late night run to satisfy her craving for them :)

After a wonderful, but SWEATY walk on the beach Saturday morning, we all headed to the beach to chill.

At lunch time we went to my favorite spot....Hamburger Joe's!

Haley and I walk pretty fast.
Heading to lunch we were super fast...so we had to snap a pic of us leading the tribe. lol!

Aren't these tanks so cute?
Haley had them made and they turned out great!

After another great day at the beach and pools,
we cleaned up and headed to dinner at Villa Tuscanna.
It was definitely a locals spot, but that made it even better!
The food was AMAZING!!!!
I highly recommend it if you are in the North Myrtle Beach area.

From there we headed to the House of Blues for some dancing!
Unfortunately, the DJ was earlier in the evening and there was a Ska band playing when we arrived.
So we took a few silly pictures and looked for another place to dance.

We ended up at Sky Bar where we sweated danced our butts off for a couple of hours! lol!
Shockingly we didn't take a single picture while we were there!
All I can say is the crowd was very interesting there ;)
We did meet a very sweet boy named Nick Ellison who was there with his fiance' celebrating their upcoming wedding.
He is trying to get into the NBA.
Honestly...I am putting that there so if I ever hear his name again I will know why it sounds familiar ;)

Sunday morning we woke up and took a walk to the coffee shop up the road.
The kid at Native Joe's was so sweet and nice!
He made all of our drinks and then even took a few pictures for us :)

And then we hit the beach for our last day there and Haley's official birthday!

The birthday girl wanted to ride the banana boats, so that is exactly what we did!
Unfortunately, they had to put us in two groups of four and we were all out on the water at the same time.
So, that means we have no pictures of us other than before we hopped on the boats :(

This is what it looked like...

On our way back to the room for lunch a few of us got stuck in the elevator!!!
It was insane!
It literally reached the weight limit and wouldn't move!
The doors wouldn't reopen, the buttons wouldn't work, etc.
It was terrifying!
It probably only lasted less than 5 minutes, but it felt like an hour! lol!
Thankfully the doors opened and a few people and their luggage hopped off and we were moving again.

We headed down to the pool for a few hours after lunch and the DJ in the afternoon was so much fun that we didn't want to leave!
So...a few of us didn't! lol!
We enjoyed a drink at the swim up bar and danced away with everyone in the pool.
It was a blast!
Before heading back to the room we discovered a couple of our roommates left some items at the pool so we had to take a silly picture of it all ;)

We continued Haley's birthday celebration with dinner at Yamato.

We walked around Broadway at the Beach looking for a few things to bring back home to our kids before heading back to our condo.
And of course we took a few more pictures together ;)

We got back and it was time for CAKE!!

We finished the evening and our trip with the most exciting and slightly terrifying round of Taboo I have ever played in my life! lol!
And the next morning we were on the road back to Ohio.

I had an absolute blast on this trip!
Getting to know Haley's friends from high school and college,
hearing all their stories,
making memories, etc.
It was the best 1st girls only trip I could have ever gone on!
Thank you so much Haley for inviting me to go!

Now I am off to start planning my birthday celebration in December! :)
