Workin' it Wednesday | A Weekend in my life

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Linking up with Shay & Erika for...

Today I am recapping our weekend.
It is honestly the most I have taken pictures since we went to Disney World at the beginning of May!
But it did me good!

So without further ado, here is a weekend in my life...

I left work around 4 pm on Friday and headed to the trophy shop to pick up my order for the T-ball party last night.

Then I was off to pick up my favorite little guy!
I surprised him with some cinnamon twists from Taco Bell to start the weekend!

About 6 pm I started making dinner - super simple.
Smoked Sausage and mac-n-cheese.

When I picked up X from the babysitter she mentioned they watched a couple episodes of The Magic School bus and X loved it!
So after dinner he asked to watch more of it.
In fact, that is the only show he watched all weekend!

Around 7:30 pm I got X's bath water ready...

And about 7:50pm he actually got in the tub :/
With his new "tattoos".

Once bath time and all the drama of not wanting to get in/not wanting to get out goes down,
X had a snack and it was time to brush his teeth and lay down.

Which then meant at 9:38 pm it was finally time for me to get to workout for the day and go to bed.

I love sleeping in on the weekends, and I love Saturday morning snuggles just as much!

Around 8 am X and I headed downstairs so he could play and I could have my morning coffee and my supplements.

Since it was Saturday, I decided to get my workout out of the way around 10 am.

Around noon we headed out to run a few errands and grab some lunch.

A few more samples of flooring to add to the mix.

Our final errand was one of X's favorite places...

We intended on buying a bike that day, but he had something else in mind....

The rest of the day was a blur, but I did finish it in bed with my favorite nighttime treat around 10 pm :)

Another morning around 8:30 am, another cup of coffee!

While X played quietly, I caught up on my reading, enjoyed my coffee, and got my grocery list in order.

About 11 am X and Mic headed to my in-laws and I headed to Target and Kroger's solo!

About 3 pm Mic and I started cleaning the house up.
I despise cleaning!

But since we were doing it, I added my makeup brushes to the list as well.

About 5:30 pm I enjoyed an adult beverage while I made dinner - My unstuffed cabbage rolls that were on the blog yesterday.

So good!

Around 7:30 pm I got X's bath ready once again, but this time I added a fun surprise to the mix!
He loved it!

I did a quick 30 minutes of pilates, showered, and then enjoyed my nighttime skincare ritual :)

After watching a little TV and playing on my phone, I finally called it a weekend at...

And that was it!
I could have taken more pictures, but I did try to still enjoy the moment :)

What did you do this weekend?

#LadiesAlive2016

Monday, April 11, 2016

I joined some friends this past Saturday for Advocare's Ladies Alive event in Columbus.
Despite the weather (it was snowing and slick), sitting all day (10am-4pm), and then sitting in the parking garage for another hour we had a great time together :)

It was a packed house!
Seriously, the Palace Theater holds about 3000 people and every one of those seats were full!
I can honestly say I have never been in a room with that many women in my life!

Due to the weather, things got started a little late but no one seemed to mind.
And on a side note: I am seriously jealous of those Texas accents!
The company was founded in Texas and those main hosts have been with Advocare between 18-20 years!
I just loved hearing them speak :)
I can't lie, one of my favorite parts of the day was when Dr. Kraemer (from Ohio State) came out to talk about some of the products.
I love using a few of them, but I also love to hear more about the ones I haven't tried yet.
They had lots of these "chat" sessions on the stage as well as individuals telling their stories of how they discovered Advocare, what it has done for them monetarily and health wise.
So let me back up a moment.
Way back in 2007, my friend Jody invited me to an Advocare mixer at her home.
She was just starting the products and knew I was into fitness, so she thought I might be interested as well.
I went to her home on a Spring evening and was introduced to Advocare by that lady in the blue dress.
I guess you could Elyse our team manager/mom/etc now.
Her and her husband have sky rocketed up the ladder in this company.
Both of them were teachers who retired and just travel around the US introducing Advocare into more homes.
It is crazy!
Anyway, way back then I started using the products and fell in love with them.
I don't push it on here, because that isn't who I am.
But I still love those products to this day.

Back to the event...
So after a box lunch, we started in for the afternoon session.
The lovely ladies I attended Ladies Alive with...Rita (Jody's mom), Kelly, Jody, and me :)

The day ended with Dawn Funk telling us about her story.
She is an interesting character for sure!
I swear she was wearing a prom dress.
But when you have arms like that...who cares what you wear!
Right?

My favorite part of her speech was when she put on her camo baseball hat and pulled her hair back in a ponytail.
She is tomboy through and through.
She was even rockin' cowboy boots with that dress.
She said she isn't into fashion, so her son picked out her dress for her :)

My absolute favorite part of the day was the goodies we received!
I mean, who doesn't like free stuff?
That planner is awesome!
Seriously, think Erin Condren quality, size, and style!
Love that reusable meal prep page (it is front and back!).
Hello Pockets in each section!
And tons of space for writing appointments and such!

And look at all the products we received in our Ladies Alive bags!
There is only a couple of things I have tried before, so I was super pumped about all these goodies!
I am currently enjoying that Double Chocolate AdvoBar --YUM!!!
And I have always wanted to try Clear Mood, but never ordered it.
I started taking those yesterday ;) lol!
Looking forward to trying the rest of the items too!

AdvoCare - Results

Friday, June 20, 2014

Mic finished the AdvoCare 24 Day challenge last week and he totally rocked it!
He completely transformed his body by paying attention to what he put in it.
Instead of pop, alcohol, tea, etc. he drank lots of water throughout the day. And when he needed a bit of caffeine, he added Spark to his water.

His lunches went from a TV dinner, cookies, pudding, Pepsi and more to salads with strawberries, turkey, nuts, and balsamic dressing. He also snacked on carrots and bananas throughout the day to keep his energy and metabolism up.

For dinner we enjoyed salads from time to time, but we also had grilled chicken or turkey breast with steamed veggies and fresh fruit.

If he was hungry before bed, he had some more raw veggies or fruit and continued to drink water.
If you put your mind to it, you will succeed!

Before the challenge

In 24 days he looks like a new person!
He has lost 20 pounds and 12. 25 inches overall!
By the end of the challenge he even wanted to start exercising again!
I am so proud of what he has accomplished!

After the challenge

It is hard to see a difference in the photos above since he has his shirt on.
He has no gut and no love handles anymore.
And his face is so much slimmer now too!
It is crazy!
All of his pants and shorts are too big for him now too!

The best part of all of this is that he wants to continue to eat and be healthy!
Yes, we will enjoy pizza or Chipotle from time to time.
Yes, we will enjoy fun evenings and cocktails with our friends.
We aren't going to eliminate everything in life just to be healthy!
We just will enjoy all those yummy things in moderation.
Meaning 80% of the time we will eat healthy and workout :)
I think that is a pretty fair deal for looking and feeling good!

If you would like to learn more about the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge shoot me an email or comment below.

Bonus for me...I lost weight and more inches while continuing to eat healthy and exercise!
