Future Cleveland Brown

Monday, June 24, 2019

A few months ago I saw some ads for different youth football camps.
From NFL players (Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry) to former Ohio State guys (now rookie - Dwayne Haskins Jr.).
I wanted to sign up X so badly for one of them.
Like his mother, he was a little apprehensive at first and said he didn't want to go.
But when the email came for a camp at the Cleveland Browns stadium I didn't even ask him. lol!
I just signed him up and said this is what you are doing in June!
At first he was nervous, but then couldn't wait for the day to arrive :)
Thankfully, my family lives up north so we decided to stay at my dad's house for the few days of camp.

The first day of camp we woke up earlier than I have in months years honestly.
X quickly got ready and ate breakfast and then we headed downtown Cleveland.
The first day we had to be there by 7:30 am to register, get his jersey, etc.

This was X's first time at the stadium for any event!
Nothing like starting at the absolute top. lol!
I sure have big shoes to fill for Browns games and such in the future!

And look who was there on his phone and checking out the kids each day....John Dorsey (General Manager for the Browns) 😁

Each day the kids did some warm ups before jumping into drills, flag football games and such.

On the second day each group got to tour the press box area.
They must have told the kids it is way up high, because you could see on X's face that he was worked up about something :(
Thankfully, he and another little boy didn't have to go up with the group.
They got to help out another coach down on the field until their group returned.
He loved it!

Here we are ready for the last day of camp.

Some of the next photos are ones that the Cleveland Browns sent out.
Unfortunately, X is in the back on this one :(

One of the best things about day 3 of camp was that the rookie class came to talk and work with the kids!

Sidenote: There were over 200 hundred kids at this camp, but it sure didn't feel that way!

I know I shared this one last week, but I had to share it again!
Eek!
They took SO MANY pictures of all the kids out there and X made one of the final photos!

I shared that photo on Instagram and Jamie Gillan responded to me.
He is such a nice guy!
We are definitely cheering him on to make the team so we can root for him this fall!

It was kind of crazy at pick up, but I had to snag a quick pic with X and his coaches for the week.

I could have shared a million photos and videos, but nobody has time for that!
All in all X (and my dad and I) had an amazing experience at the Cleveland Browns football camp.
X learned so much and is already asking to go back next year!

We all can't wait for him to begin his first season of flag football this fall, and to cheer on our Cleveland Browns!!!

A couple things to note about the camp:

There were 2 sessions offered (one at the stadium and one at the training facility the week after)

It was $130 per participant

It was a 3 day camp going from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm each day

A light lunch was provided from Arby's (although my kid didn't eat it 🙄)

Each day we received an email recapping what the kids worked on and what was to come for the next day.

At the end we received an email with 60+ photos from the final day of camp.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this camp.
The only negative I have and it really isn't a negative at all, but I wish we would have been told where the coaches were from.
All the coaches were volunteers from local area schools.
I think it would be so fun to take X to a game and see those coaches in action!

I also want to say this was not a sponsored post in anyway, but that would be awesome in the future ;)

Thanks as always for stopping by today!
Let me know if you have any questions about the camp, or if your kiddos have attended any football, baseball, etc. camps in your area!

XOXO ~ Vanessa
