Level 8 Unlocked

Monday, December 9, 2019

Friday night we headed to the local trampoline park to celebrate X's 8th birthday with a few 😉 of his friends.
This was the first time we have hosted a party there.
It was seriously one of the easiest parties I have ever hosted!
They ordered pizzas and supplied the water, plates and napkins.

Ready to celebrate our FAVORITE 8 year old!

X isn't a huge cake/cupcake person, so we opted for some yummy donuts instead!
They were a huge hit amongst the kids and parents :)

Those donuts were so good!
They were from the Kroger bakery if you are looking for a yummy and inexpensive dessert.

We set up the donuts and treat bags and were ready for all of X's friends to arrive!

One by one all 16+ boys made their way in and then downstairs to jump.
If the boys weren't playing by the basketball hoops, they were climbing the rock wall,
or on the dodge ball court.

The dodge ball court is definitely their favorite place to be!

Of course, X's favorite part was when the lights go off and the glow lights come on!

After jumping for an hour, it was time for pizza!

They were all pumped for donuts too!

And I cracked up with how excited they all get to see X open his presents!

They headed back downstairs for a little more jumping before the our two hour party came to a close.

X has a small school project that he had to take a picture with his Flat Gingy over the weekend.
I cracked up because a handful of kids brought theirs as well!

We couldn't ask for better friends for X!
He had such a great evening celebrating his 8th birthday!
Thank you to all that reached out with text messages, DM's, etc. to wish our special guy happy birthday 😄

Hello Forty!

Thursday, December 20, 2018

I feel like you all already know, but in case you didn't...
I celebrated turning forty years old over the weekend.
Birthdays come and go, but this one has stuck with me a bit more.
Honestly, I was (and still am) excited to turn 40.
I have never been one to lie about my age, feel sad about getting older, etc.
About the only thing that trips me up about my age is the fact that at 40 years old I have a 7 year old first grader.
When my parents were 40 years old I graduated high school :/
While I couldn't imagine things being reversed or even the same, it still gets to me from time to time.

Moving on...

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday evening with some close friends down in Columbus.
We enjoyed dinner at Matt The Miller's Tavern (Polaris location).
Mic and I have always loved the Dublin location, so we decided to give this one a try since it was so close to our hotel and the bar we were going to after dinner.
The food was good, but the company was even better :)

We finished our meals and headed to Tequila Cowboy just before the Cleveland Browns game started.

X was actually worried that I wouldn't get to see the game since I wasn't at home,
so I snapped a pic of one of the bar TV's to let him know I was OK ;)

While we watched the game, we had to take some pictures to document the night ;)

These two crack me up!
Whenever you give Vinnie the camera to take your picture, he must get a selfie first! lol!

I will admit, the karaoke section was just OK.
Looking back now, I wish I would have skipped it and just danced to the live music while we watched the game.
Oh well!

And we were really bummed because the mechanical bull was broken :(

But the Cleveland Browns came away with a big birthday win for me,
we enjoyed some adult beverages,
and splurged on some camo cake :)

I do have a question for you all...
Do you do shots?
I didn't realize that wasn't a thing everyone does.
Seriously.
Back where I come from... that is totally normal!
I did drink a few shots, so everything was good :)
And I may have converted a few others with how tasty the shot I picked was ;)

And just like that the evening was over.

Mic and I spent the night in a huge king size bed at our hotel, before heading back home the next morning.

Thank you again to all of you for the birthday wishes on here,
Facebook, Instagram, text, etc.
You sure know how to make a girl feel loved!

I thought about sharing 40 things about myself, but I feel like everything I would list you already know.
So I am opening it up to you!
What is something you don't know or wonder about me?

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

XOXO ~ Vanessa

Friday, Friday, Friday!

Friday, December 7, 2018

Happy Happy Friday!
We are one week closer to Christmas!
I can't wait!!!

But first we are celebrating all the birthdays!
This past week we hosted X's 7th birthday party!

Look at that cake!
We were so excited and happy with how it turned out!

Someone is just slightly into football ;)
He was especially excited to receive his new Baker Mayfield jersey!
Go Browns!!!

Today is the last day to enter my Favorite Things Giveaway!!!

Basketball is in full swing these days and I am truly loving watching #4 play the game!

Wednesday was officially X's birthday, so I brought his very favorite donuts to share with his class for this birthday treat :)
#appledonutsforthewin

When I picked them up that morning they were still warm!
My car smelled so good!

Mr. Homebody didn't want anything to do with going out to dinner for his birthday :(
So we picked up his favorite white rice from Chipotle and ate dinner at home :)

These were my favorites on Instagram this week!

And I finally got to visit with one of my favorites this week and get my hair done while I was there ;)

And that is it for this week!
Looking forward to finishing up my Christmas shopping this weekend,
taking X to a new friend's birthday party,
and watching all the football!

What are you up to this weekend?
I hope you have a great one whatever you are doing!

XOXO ~ Vanessa
