Spring Style Me | Week 4

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

I can't believe that the #GYPOSpringStyle Challenge is over!
While the challenge may have ended on Sunday, the friendships I have made with these wonderful ladies with go on for a very long time :)

Today I am featuring my final week of looks as well as picking my favorite looks of the challenge, so let's get to it!

Inspiration: Stripes, denim, and brights
Loved this look!
It was so easy to throw on and head out the door for work.
We were having dinner with friends that evening, so I just switched out my comfy flats for my converse and I was ready to go!
Denim Jacket, Striped dress, Orange flats, White Converse

Inspiration: Coral & white
Coral Gingham top, Tan dress pants, Leopard belt and flats

Inspiration: Black tee and jeans
I was not feeling dress clothes for work on Friday, so thankfully my wonderful boss (Hi Mic) let me rock jeans instead :)
Black tee, wide leg jeans, leopard belt, leopard scarf, cognac wedges
happy bracelet, tan & gold combo bracelet

Inspiration: White on white
White tank, denim jacket, white pants, pewter sandals, silver necklace

I wear white on white all the time, so this was my absolute favorite look of the challenge!
So easy and so clean!

Check out Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 for more challenge inspired looks.
And here are my favorite looks from this challenge.

Whad up? | Spring Style Week 3

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

The first part of that title is said in my most gangsta way possible. lol!
Today I am joining Mel, Sheaffer, and Shay for their new monthly link up

Every month the following questions will be answered along with a bonus or seasonal question.

So let's get to it!

What we're eating this week...Over the weekend I felt like all we ate were donuts!
Otherwise we have been eating roasted veggie bowls with chicken and rice, and pizza on Friday nights :)

What I'm reminiscing about...High school after listening to 90's on 9 and thanking God for unanswered prayers :)

What I'm loving...That it is finally sandal weather!
I love my boots in the Fall and Winter, but once Spring hits I am all about the sandals.
Well, as long as the temp is above 40* it is sandal weather for me :)

What we've been up to...Removing wallpaper, painting, mowing the grass, and trying to enjoy our back deck and patio before we move.

What I'm dreading...Selling our house :(
I love our house and all the updates we have done to it.
While I am excited to move, I wish I could take that house with us.

What I'm working on...This post. lol!
On my list of what needs done at our house before we list it :/

What I'm excited about...X starting T-Ball in a couple of weeks!

What I'm watching/reading...Trying to get caught up on my shows, but failing miserably :(
I am caught up on The Voice though :)
Still watching The Blacklist and Vikings too!

What I'm listening to...Since XM is free for the first few months in my new car I have been listening to a lot of 90's on 9 and Backspin. Both of them totally take me back to my middle and high school days.

What I'm wearing...I have been taking part in the #GYPOSpringStyle Challenge over the last few weeks so you can check out my outfits below :)

What I'm doing this weekend...More than likely we will be working on our house, touching up paint, and enjoying the warmer weather.

What I'm looking forward to next month...My little brother is getting married! I am hoping I don't cry like a baby the whole time since I will be up in front of everyone as a bridesmaid. I also pray that X walks down the aisle without too much crazy and stays quiet during the ceremony :)

What else is new...At the moment, nothing!
We are so consumed with fixing up, moving, selling, etc. of all the homes involved as well as the wedding that I haven't had much time to focus on anything else!

Bonus Question
What are you getting your mom (or what do you want) for Mother's Day?
Well my mom reads this here blog so I can't disclose that info just yet.
And I'm "not allowed" to give her anything according to her. Whatever!
Something I would like for Mother's Day would be breakfast or lunch with my two guys followed by a me only mani and pedi :)
Plus, I need those for the wedding the following weekend so it really takes care of tasks I have to do anyway.

And now onto my recap of the #GYPOSpringStyle Challenge.

Spring Style Me | Week 2

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

I can't believe we are already a week into the #GYPOSpringStyle Challenge!
Last year I really tried to stick to the script so to speak as much as I could, but this year I am definitely playing with what I have in my closet more to make the outfit more me.
And I am loving that Alison has been releasing the inspiration photos a week at a time to help with planning.
Some of the looks below I switched up the days to work with my schedule a little better :)

**All items are closet finds unless indicated**

Spring Style Me | Week 1

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

I joined an amazing group of ladies last year for the Spring Style Challenge that Alison @ Get Your Pretty On began.
I loved every minute of it!
While a lot of these ladies continued on with the Summer, Fall, etc. challenges I sat them out because I was just too busy.
(Things are always going to be busy around here! lol!)
Well, I am finally back with my girls for the 2015 Spring Challenge!
Today we are all linking up to show Days 1 & 2 of the challenge, so make sure you click on each of the blog links to see how the other ladies recreated the looks Alison inspired us with.

New this year - Alison released all of the outfit ideas for week 1 with the first outfit email.
So thankful for that!
I love to plan in general, so planning my looks for the week was wonderful!
And being able to switch the days around was great!

Day 1
Inspiration outfit: Camo, gray & brights

I knew I couldn't wear my camo jeans to work, so I had to change it up a bit.
I decided to go with my army green military jacket (Old Navy), my coral/red tee (JCP), gold circle necklace (Target), gray dress pants (Loft), and leopard belt and flats (Target).
All items I already owned prior to this challenge :)

I love my camo jeans I picked up on sale from Nordstrom last year, but unfortunately they are sold out and no longer on the site :(
I had every intention of throwing those on with a gray tee when I got home from work Monday night, but to my surprise the temps were in the upper 70's!!!
So instead I threw on my army green shorts (super old- Old Navy) with one of my favorite gray logo tees (Etsy @ Nordstrom) :)
#midwestisbest
Again, all items worn in the photo above I already owned prior to the challenge.

** Monday evening I swung through Payless on my way home from work to see what all the fuss was about with the Dexflex flats. While I haven't worn my new orange pair yet, they were super comfy in the store! Can't wait to pair them with future outfits :) **

Day 2
Inspiration outfit: Stripes with a pop of color

I was excited for Day 2 since I just picked up a new navy & white striped dress from Old Navy :)
I had every intention to wear my military jacket again since I didn't pick up either of the cardigans, but last minute Tuesday morning I decided to throw on a red boyfriend cardi (JCP).
I wanted to wear my new wedges from Target, but it was only 40* when I was leaving for work, so I threw on my cognac boots (JCP) instead.
I am on the phone quite a bit during the day at work, so hoop earrings don't really work for me.
I opted to wear some gold ball studs and skip the necklace entirely.
Sorry so blurry! Need to work on a better spot for my CamMe photos.
